im still not sold on these things, the fact that it will always be a camaro, but IMO this is the best looking concept so far

Now see I like that look better then the one kevin morgan did...altho he also had pics of the same yearing style...I just didnt like that the Trans Am Reviled was a Camaro with a Nose and Hood....
Sorry I love the birds and for better or worse want a Trans Am Concept, be a concept not a Clone...
Bad enough the Camaro is a Cady...Either way I like and dislike features....and maybe I am a Jealous TA fan who wont get his 2010 TA.....
Sigh*

First off, Pontiac is dead, and this has nothing to do with GM.
Second of all, it always was a Camaro. It might have had different engines, but it shared a frame, suspension and other such technology with the Camaro.
Stop treating it as if it was its own car, and stop treating it as it was some sort of out of this world car. BS like this is what made people belive that the GTO was this monster muscle car that would run 10's all day, when in fact itw as just another Pontiac with a big motor.

Camaro is a Caddy? Outside of sharing GM's direct injected V6, there is nothing related between the Camaro and any Caddy outside of the obvious, you know...4 wheels, doors, windows, steering wheel,
The 3.6 Direct Injection motor is also found in:
2009+ Buick Enclave
2010+ Buick LaCrosse
2009+ Chevy Traverse
2009+ GMC Acadia
2009 Saturn Outlook
It will become a staple of for GM V6's, as will with its little 3.0 brother that is
found in several new GM vehicles.

Agreed on the first part, but body kits are for ricers?
I dont want to point out the obvious, but your average Trans Am is decked out with a high rise wing, ram air scooped hood, holes, vents and other orphases to make a Civic hatchback owner blush.
If you follow the 4th gen idea, the Trans Am is just a Camaro, with a ricer version of the Camaro.
Bigger wing, larger scoops, massive vents...but didnt go any faster then a Camaro.

if i had a disposable bank account i'd buy it.
and yeah, firebirds/trans ams were basically camaros, they DID have the same motor, same chassis, basically same suspension (in most of them atleast) BUT in almost all cases the firebirds/trans ams had better interior and i think better styling, IMO. thats me, ive been in a few camaro's before, (third and fourth gen atleast) and i felt kinda like in a cavalier with a v8, in most atleast.
but back on topic, it is kinda crappy that it'll just be a camaro with a body kit, that blows, but that big motor would make up for that i think.

All of these "concepts" fail...it's still a Camaro...always will be. People need to just let the Trans Am die...just...let....it....go....

It's actually a little scary that there are so many companies trying to come up with a TA to sell. Will these modified Camaros need to meet EPA certification? If so, the cost will go through the roof. They are basically customs or kit cars. How do they get insured, as a Camaro since that is what the VIN will say?

registration and insurance will probably still be listed as a camaro cuz its VIN goes back to that car. it'll be interesting when they get pulled over with (that is if they make the car) a camaro dressed like a firebird and the cop runs the registrationa and insurance lol.

Really? Seriously? If someone slaps a Ferrari body kit on a Fiero, does it become a Ferrari?
Please facepalm yourself.

The tail lights on this one are far better than what Kevin Morgan came up with.
Those of you who are tired of TA / Firebird threads, ignore them, but do NOT shut them down. Those of us who enjoy the Firebird (still) and enjoy seeing something new and creative come up, will continue to make threads about it, comment on it, and hunt for more. This is an FBODY board... with threads like these that make a helluva lot more sense than most of the crap that gets posted here.
Thus endeth the lesson.

I've owned now 4 Trans Ams so I can pretty much say I'm a Firebird lover. The reason these things get tiresome is because it's NOT a Firebird and never will be. The car is dead, let it die a peaceful death.

so can anyone tell me exactly what magical special process happens at the GM plants in the past that turns a ''body kitted camaro'' into a firebird???

Nothing is magically done aside from one car is an actual Camaro and one is an actual Firebird, go look at any Camaro VIN from 67-02 and do the same for the Firebird.
Now go look at the VIN from a '10 Camaro and at the VIN from one of these kits. Hmmmmmm...ironically both will be Camaros.....
/thread
The fact is the car is a fake, I'm going to compare it to taking a regular GN and trying to pass it off as a GNX. At the end of the day it's still Camaro...the people that buy these Firebird conversions are nothing more than posers.

or people just trying to buy something that gm shouldve offered in the first place.
as for fake. If they pay for the TRANS AM name then how much more faker is it than a Firebird TRANS AM. NOT ONCE HAVE I SEEN THE WORD FIREBIRD MENTIONED IN THE CONVERSIONS! it may not be a Firebird Trans Am, but as long as they pay the Royalties it is a Trans Am.
are you gonna say the Dodge Daytona Iroc doesnt exist or its fake because it carries the same Race Designation as the Camaro Iroc???? Same difference. this on is just a Camaro TRANS AM. not a Firebird
