Funny wakeup call this morning

So its around 4am this morning..I awake to the sound of my silverado running in the driveway. I can hear the flowmaster exhaust as if its in my bedroom at this time of the morning. I'm thinking..is someone stealing my truck?

So I go out there and its running all by itself..the keys were in the jeans i threw on before I ran outside. I open the door, everything looks fine...the temp is up to running temp, 210 so I can tell its been running a while...then it shuts off....

Groggily, I climb into the truck, and start it with my key, it turns over and its fine.

I lock it back up and go back to bed thinking, what the F...then it hits me. When I bought the truck it had a remote starter installed..but I had lost the key fob over 2 years ago now. The only way I can explain this is either A) the remote start is going nuts B)someone found my remote and thinks its funny to mess with me , or C) Some neighbor of mine got a remote start recently and their fob is starting my truck somehow.

Now is that even possible?..and it made me really wonder..how many nights has this happened where I didnt wake up??

Just a very strange start to my day I wanted to share.

YOU HAVE JUST ENTERED "THE TWILIGHT ZONE"! Look for Rod Sterling somewhere near your truck.

Don't you love being woken up by an issue. About 2 years ago I woke up at 3 AM to the horn blare of my wife's Vue. Dam thing was going on for a few minutes and wouldn't stop. I pop the hood and just start pulling fuses out in the dark. All my neighbors lights were on and tehy were all looking out at the asshat in his bathrobe ripping out fuses in the dark. Turned out to be a bad connection between the wheel and the steering column. Grrrrrrr.

Maybe your lost key fob is somewhere in your bed and you rolled on it and it remote started?

Its very possible the fob is still in your house with a timer set on the remote start. My friend had a remote start in his van and it would start up at 3am everday and he couldn't figure out why until he realized the remote was set to start it at 3am.

If that's the case, over 2 years without knowing I wonder how much gas he's gone through not knowing the truck was idling the night away...

Wow, bizarre! Glad you decided to yank that crap out - I would have done the same thing.

most remote start systems shut off after several minutes, he might have just happen to catch it...anything is possible
