iPad......
Today was the first I've heard of this... at first i was like uhhh.. :wtf:.. but, wow. BRILLIANT! really. I mean, im sure people are gonna jump on here apple this apple that boo hoo, but im not even excited because this is an apple product, i think its fantastic. everything my iphone can do just got a whole lot bigger, without the need to carry around a laptop. i like the idea that its like holding a book, sort of like those electronic book readers, but to a whole new dimension

Looks pretty sweet, but the name just isn't sitting well with me.
LT1low: first MS has to figure out how to make software that won't crash and isn't riddled with security issues...... then they can focus on proprietary computers, fix the zune and then think about maybe one day trying to make their own tablet.

pretty neat but i don't see anything different in the iPad, than what my iPhone can do, except a larger size. Still made of glass(!), wonder if they won't cover it like iPhones or iPod touch.

I knew about the tablet but I was actually hoping this was something apple was developing along the lines of home systems. I know a lot of people can already control most of the lights/security/heat etc at home through the iphone wherever they are.

There's an app for everything. Except for playing a .swf or .flv, apparently. Which means no youtube or anything of that nature.

As of 12:23 p.m., there’s no mention of FlashPlayer, a widely used software application missing on iPhone, much to disappointment of iPhone users. Movies and TV programs are immediately available, however, and rumors are the WI-FI access can be via Verizon or AT&T.
|
I misspoke. The iPad probably has some other type of Youtube support (like the iPhone) but doesn't have Flash, or a mention of it at this time.

apologize for nothing
iPad 3G models are unlocked, there's no contract, and you pay $30 a month for unlimited data. Don't fall for the $15 250MB deal: if you're interested in this gadget, you'll use more. AT&T users get free use at their hotspots.
