God damn it. Everytime I work on an LT1 to fix one problem, another problem seems to pop up. **** you lt1 gods!!! I feel bad for LT1 owners...really.

What is it you were trying to do, and how fast were you trying to get it done? I realized today that when you really take you time and do it slowly it actually goes faster.

I've worked on both along with every other tech in my dealership, and they will all tell you that the LT1 in much more of a PITA to work on than an LS1.

SERIOUSLY....... you f&*kin LTnone guys need to get with the times!
the ls series by far is the easiest of the 2 ta work on (whether experienced or not) and all of its characteristics are better (for the most part ie: hp/tq,mpg,responsiveness to bolt-ons,etc..)
I can change plugs & wires on a ls series engine with my eyes closed in under 20 minutes (gapping plugs ahead of time of course)
You Lt1 nuthangers couldn't do it in under a hr. with your eyes open !!!

Nobody ever argues that the lt1 is better (except maybe matt) but it gets really really old hearing all this crap down talking. the lt1 guys (except maybe matt again) dont make fun of and down talk 3rd gens all that often. and so on and so forth

really? you must not be very familiar with them then. i found my LT1 way easier than my LS1 to change plugs in, wires can be done from on top or below with no issues at all. there is nothing difficult about working on LT1s.

What R you smoking? must be something good to make that statement............... unless you have swapped out that time consuming to change opti for ls style ignition system !!!

you really shouldnt be commenting on something that you're not fully familiar with. you're just proving that its not the level of difficulty but lack of experience that makes it hard. and there is no point in replacing the opti if you're going to keep it below 7100rpms

I really dont think LT1's are that hard to work on. Granted it has its short comings but doesnt every motor? This argument is pretty lame anyway, what is it us LT1 guys were supposed to respond with? Yeah, thats right, f@$% us...? Point taken, we suck.

They both have some positive and negative. The bottom line is this. The LS1 is a better motor performance wise, and is easier to work on. Thats not saying The LT1 is ******. Hell the LS1 is really outdated now.
I love both my cars. If my LT1 blows up I will put another LT1 in it. The things I love about my LT1 is the low end tq, The way it looks, and the feel of it. It feels more like a old school muscle car.

I would love to see you Change the plugs on my T/A in 20 mins on my Driveway!! I would pay 500.00 if you could change them in under 20 mins with your eyes closed!

ehh. Ls1's are definitely easier to work on, and the fact that they have more power stock, makes them more attractive to an inexperienced mechanic. I've had the motor, trans, and k-member out of my ls1, but working on an LT1 just isn't as fun. Maybe it's just the fact that when I work on LT1's it's not my car, so my enthusiasm to work just isn't there.

All I get from this is all LT1s should be junked since they are hard to work on and everybody should drive an LS1 because they are the best and easiest to work on. Cool.
