License plate question

I still have my FL tags for time being, getting ready to switch once I finalize my NJ move. Well, a few weeks ago my plate blew off my bike and i can't find it. Am i permitted to still ride the bike, i have full coverage and registration good through 8/10?
(Its going to be another week or two until I transfer my info to NJ)

Also, my bike being from FL, what would i need to do to transfer to NJ? Lien on the bike, what about inspection, what do they inspect?

youll probably get pulled over a few times with it, but having all documents with you would probably help. i wouldnt drive without a tag though...

i wouldnt ride it, if anything report it lost to the local police, then if u MUST ride it, theres a record that it was previously reported.

you're prob just better off waiting till you transfer it to nj though

I just failed inspection for having one mirror... I am trying to figure out if I need a license plate light or not.

I wouldn't ride it without the plates. I did it with my Trans Am when I first got it and got pulled over a bunch of times. No tickets as I had all the paperwork but its just a hassle

you always need a license plate light... but I think you only need a drivers side mirror and rear view? is that the one you were missing.

yeah I was talking about my bike. They said it needed to be on the driver side. About 4 other riders tried explaining to the lady that both sides are the driver side

yes correct. you always need a plate on a vehicle. or you are going to get pulled over. you SHOULD report the missing plate to the local police. sometimes people find a license plate and turn it in, then the police turn it over to mvc then mvc will mail it to the florida mvc. sometimes

to transfer it. go to http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/Vehicle/OutOfState.htm it walks you through it

Update/rant:::::

I received my letter permitting NJ registration and a copy of my title for the bike.
Well hsbc sent a photocopy and I waited a month so far and they were supposed to send unsigned title cuz it has lein. When I moved to FL they did that and it went smoothly. NJ DMV won't accept that, nor would they let me switch my License cuz I have multiple vehicles still reg'd . I even have NJ insuance already but can't do anythng. I called HSBC they refused to send me unsigned title at first, Now they claim it's an electronic title, that no paper one exists, and it might not be until the end of May or beg of June until I can reg my bike. WTF NJ FTMFL! I just want to ride . I'm about to get a FL replacement tag for 30$ down in FL until HSBC gets me a damn title. They won't even electonically send one to the nj DMV! So I'm stuck for now. Grrrrrrr.

Did I mention I have 0 pts never accidents, my full coverage in FL is 1,100/yr, and in nj same coverage went to 4,900$?!?! Grrrrrr x2

Yeah i'll be giving them a quote.

I found what's going on - FL doesn't issue paper titles, they have electronic titles, for new vehicles, and NJ doesn't use electronic, they use paper. 10-15 days and i should be good

Another thing NJ is a pain with is your insurance card. It has to be an official one that your insurance company sends you in the mail. A printed one off the website is invalid, both at DMV and if you get pulled over. Just one more thing to remember when you head back to register it.
