I started cracking up when i saw this, there was another video of a ford ranger doing the same thing, but every video of a chevy or dodge pulling a tree down they did it without a problem!

I have to tend to disagree with that one. Cummin's are good but they unfortunetly have a Dodge wrapped around them. Duramax's were plagued with EGR failures. As Ford was also plagued with EGR cooler failures and fuel tank delamination for certain years.

Biggest downfall of all them would be the transmission, aside from GM's Allison's.

with that many roots holding that stump in, it wouldn't go flying. That strap would snap before anything else

My brother has a 05 Cummins 3500 and his is absouletly great! My cousin just got the new chevy with the Allison and he only had it for a couple of weeks maybe a couple of months and he had to get a new engine, that was the only downfall to the truck other than that he loves it. But Fords are a whole nother story :P

Jay's 2500HD was a 6.0L gas engine Blondie.....not the 6.6L Duramax diesel. And it had a weird valvetrain issue that the dealer tried to give him the run around on, but they eventually took care of it for him, and he couldn't be happier with the truck (it replaced his '97 Ford F250 with the 7.3 powerjoke).

would it perhaps make more sense to put it in 4 wheel low and pull in reverse as long as you have frame mounted hooks rather than pull up your rear?

Yes, especially with the heavy diesel engine over the front axle.

No, the Allison is only for the diesel. I believe the 6L80e is the standard 6spd auto behind the 6.0L.
