Tattoos? HA! Waste of money....

My kids were asking about getting tattoos.

Instead of just blowing them off on the tats, I gave them the choice of a tattoo or a martial arts classes. They chose a Mixed Martial Arts class after attending a few different martial arts classes over the last two weeks.

Its fun for them, and they get improved self esteem, and they can kick anyone's tattooed ass that happens to make the mistake of messing with them. Already, my 10 year old knows how to take down an adult who has grabbed a hold of her, such as in a kidnap or abuse situation. Pretty cool.

So when you tattooed guys are ogling my daughter on the beach in a few years, just be aware that her tat free skin means she can kick your ass big time.

Just something to think about.

Yeah, and martial arts can be no match if there are weapons involved. Or someone gets the jump on you.

My son has been in Karate since he was 4 year old and after 6 years he made brown belt. I'm seeing good things out of kids who attend class in and outside of the dojo.

I took martial arts as well. I don't see me kicking some dudes ass with it, it really helped boost my self esteem and self dicipline ( problably just spelled that wrong). when I was an orange belt, I would take down brown belts in sparing, so taking something for years don't mean a thing IMO, if you know how to apply what you know ( in my case mininmal versus the brown belts) and use it to excert yur goals.

Chris, glad to hear your kid stuck through those years doign it. it really helps buil;d self esteem and self awareness amongst your peers.

I feel like a 10 year old cant get a tattoo. You have to be 16 (maybe 14 now) with parental consent...

I have tattoo's and I really don't care if you think they are a waste of money.

Like JerzLT1 said, its your opinion. Your body is your temple, and you can wallpaper it however you want.

Just cause your 10yo knows Karate doesn't mean she's going to stop a determined 30yo pedobear. Sorry to clue you in on a secred the ad wizards for Karate schools don't want you to know about.

I have noticed a big difference between tattooed people and non-tattooed people.

How often do you hear people without tattoos making fun of those of us with tattoos? Ok, now think about that. Ok, now when was the last time you heard someone with a tattoo make fun of someone for not having a tattoo. Hmmmmmmmmmm....

I'd rather be covered in tattoos than be a smoker... or drive an N/A V6
its all a matter of preference

Who cares when the optispark is working the its faster then a N/A V6. I've got seven tattoos, and know one would know the wiser while my shirt is on. I took martial classes growing up, studied Kenpo with a grandmaster at his personal dojo at his house in Okinawa, so I don't see how martial classes have anything to do with not getting tattoos when they are old enough to get them on their own.

I guess he is seeing having tattoos as something that isn't positive, but karate as positive. That is my take on it.

No not really. But I like the whole "holier then thou" attitude you have here. It's not on your skin so why do you care so much? No need to answer that cause most of us know.
