Got SIX tickets today....ya

so i was driving home and when i was 2 blocks from home a cop passes going the other direction and turns around so i already know were about to have chat. Before he even gets out of his car 2 other squad cars show up and a third later on. turns out i was doing 35 in a 30 and thats why he stopped me. I was polite as usual and didnt argue. He comes back a half hour later holding six tickets... Thats not a typo he gave me the following six tickets

1.No inspection
2.obstructed view
3.failure to make repairs
4.36 in a 30
5.unclear plates
6.Tinted hatch

Moral of the story. Stay the **** out of Metuchen.

Shouldn't the moral of the story be don't drive without inspection or don't speed?

Sucks dude.

How did he write you for a tinted hatch...that's legal isn't it? What repairs needed to be made that weren't done?

How did you get a ticket for tinted hatch? Rear windows have no tint restrictions as long as you have both side mirrors.

Yeah my rear hatch is tinted 5% and I have never been questioned about it. Went through inspection with it everything was fine. Also just look at 95% of SUVs and other newer cars have "Privacy Glass" as a factory standard/option. So yeah I would plea that as well as the 6 over the speed limit. As far as the other things your gonna be stuck with them. Obstruction of view no matter what it is/was will hold up and the inspection as well. The repair thing has me a little confused as to it being along the same lines as inspection.

Moral of the story. Stay the **** out of Metuchen.
**** the cop deal with the court.

Get inspection, most judges will throw it out.

Then ask how/why a failure to repair is justified if you didnt have a failure sticker from the DMV or a previous warning

Obstructed view your kinda beat, its $55 bucks... Could always plead that the cop unfairly threw the book at you even after being polite etc but that a stretch

Plead down the 36 in a 30. Make sure you tell the prosecutor your were following traffic and honestly didnt even realize it.

Unclear plates you should be able to have thrown out. Go get it inspected and then tell him the inspection station had no problem with the border so hows it and issue. And pretty much ditto on the tint.

I bet if you show up with proof of inspection and honestly plead your case to the prosecutor (if hes a normal person and not a power trip **** ass) he'll drop everything but the speeding and plead it down.

Did he ask you to roll up your front windows? If not he cannot write you for a tinted hatch.

The speeding is well... speeding.

**** hanging from the mirror, well I would have written/told you a warning...

Failure to repair? Have a dead inspection sticker?

I agree with everyone here, like I texted you before. I still don't see how he can possibly give you a tinted hatch ticket. Hell, my Exploder has 20% tint on the two back doors, the side windows, and back window from the FACTORY, so I don't see how that's possible. Rack bodies don't even HAVE back windows.

You can read everything except the "garden state" part of the plate with those frames can't you? Mine corroded so I have a different one on but I'm trying to remember.

Precisely.

And I call BS on the "tinted hatch" thing. You either rolled up your windows for him and he gave you a ticket for tinted windows, or he saw that your windows were tinted and gave you a ticket for ... tinted windows. Does your ticket say "tinted hatch"? I doubt it.

sucks about the tickets man but im sure you can fight them. im suprised he gave u a speeding ticket for that even if you were following traffic...i hear most cops are lenient up to 10 miles per hour over the speed limit but like cbrmike said you were doing it..
