It definitely sucks that the cop dropped the hammer so hard on you, but I think something else is going on here. Ordinarily, that large number of tickets equals the driver being a total D bag, but the large amount of police cars leads me to believe that a car similar to yours was seen leaving a street race, recently evaded the police, or may have been involved in a crime and they didn't have any way to prove it wasn't you; therefore, they wrote a bunch of tickets after a computer check of you didn't yield any useful information. Whatever it was, and whatever you do courtwise, I'd stay out of Metuchen.
I once got pulled over in Highland Park. Similar circumstances. Cop saw me, turned around followed me until he had a back up unit behind him, lit me up. Then I saw at least three more cars join them. Guy took one look at me (Without asking for ID), asked where I was coming from, where I was going, and where I was the night before. When I told him work, and who I worked for, he actually asked me if anyone else had been driving my Jeep at the time. If I wasn't on the job, I wouldn't have been surprised if I hadn't gotten tickets for my lack of inspection, mud flaps, or any other violation he could find.

DAm i just got 2 tickets on my ride to florida in virgina and i thought that was bad. i got stopped for speeding and he also gave me a ticket for my rear windows being tinted. buts its the stock privacy glass in virgina its 35% is legal and my stock back window tint is 20% so its a $96 ticket for something the car came with brand new out of the box

Ya man i lived around here for a long time so i know better than to speed in this town and im trying to figure out what caused him to drop the hammer. I was very polite as usual since i know your getting nowhere startin **** with the cop. I think it might be cause my one neighbor keeps calling the police to complain about my car, so maybe there being pressured to do something?

i hear usually when cops see kids with riced out hondas or souped up cars or cars they know will go fast...its not a matter of IF they will be speeding or racing, but WHEN they will...maybe they are having a street racing problem im metuchen and want things like this post to happen to deter people from speeding / racing in metuchen

sucks but you legitimately have all those things wrong with your car. gotta pay to play man.
the inspection ticket wont go away even if you get it inspected...ive tried it before... doesnt fly. the only one youll probably be able to talk down is the unclear plates.

Remember that last phrase the next time you're in a bad situation and need their help...

Exactly what I was thinking. Just about every cop I've ever met has been pretty fair with what they write. Getting a long list like that is kind of odd.

i usually get laundry lists of tickets when i get pulled over and a search to boot, but to be fair i usually keep a few things ''ticketable'' on my car to get out of the bigger tickets

Metuchen is the worst town to ever drive in. I am not surprised by this. Good luck fighting the tickets.

sucks man, i'm sure a few tickets will get dropped in court but it really depends on your record. if its real bad, that could be why you got slammed. it also could be tied into the recent !safety inspections.

i can't speak for the town in question but any municipal court i have been in, the prosecutor tells the offender to get the car inspected/registered/insured and they will drop that ticket.

Exactly. Usually when i get a ticket it sucks but im not mad a the cop cause there doing there job but this extremely nitpicky. Its one thing if he pulled me over and i gave him a hard time but i was polite and even told him i would take of the Shu bracket(unclear plates) and the whistle(obstruction of vision) on the spot if he would like.

I have to go into Metuchen all the time. I pretty much know where all the cops hide out but you still don't screw around. I'm gonna go take the license plate bracket off my DD later just so I don't get messed with when school starts.

the plate bracket is really a gamble. you can take it off to avoid the ticket, or you can leave it on cause if the cops in a good mood and your respectful he can knock a ticket down to plate bracket. i personally leave mine on. it gives the officer the opportunity to not give you a more expensive ticket or one with points

they don't really just write tickets for the plate bracket. and they don't pull you over for it unless they think they'll find something else wrong with it. but even then. there are always other things they can pull you over for. in my opinion taking it off won't stop much.
