Nitrous
Im looking into nitrous kits but i want to see what the failure rates are. Ive heard so many bad things about nitorus with backfires and blown motors. Im just scared of blowing the motor to quickly. I would be getting a wet kit and most likely hook it up to a button rather then microswitch so i control it. any inputs or thoughts. Just looking for a little extra umph at the track only not street and a supercharger is next years plan do to cost

As long as you keep the shot size reasonable and your nitrous tune up is good you should be fine. Most horror stories you hear about are usually from "user error". I would recommend that you activate your kit with a WOT/microswhitch. Reason I say that is if you ever need to lift out of the throttle the kit will turn off. If you were to use a momentary button, theres the possiblity that you may not let go of the button right away which could lead to a catastrophic engine failure. You may also want to use an rpm window switch.

If you set the kit up properly with the safety items, you can run a system reliably. Stick with the well known companies and do your homework.
Harris Speed Works, NX, Nitrous Outlet are all good companies that I would recommend. I would actually lean towards you going with a programmed activation rather than you working a button yourself. The controllers these days can activate the nitrous under multiple conditions (fuel pressure, gear, WOT, RPM, etc).

The safest way without worry of backfire is a dry kit! I wouldnt spray more then a 100 shot on a dry kit. There is no fuel being sprayed into the intake and therefor no fuel puddle for a backfire.. Thats what I would do if you are not 100% sure.. Get use to spraying a dry shot before you add the fuel portion to make it a wet kit..

I have a carb set up so I must use a wet kit though I believe because they don'tnt make a dry kit. I foundvs kit for 395 for everything. Do I have to use a purge kit also because that's not included

Its not nessesary to have a purge but its nice to have. It gets rid of the air in the line so right when you hit it its all N20.. People without Purge kits spray a little in the burnout box to clear the line from air while doing a burnout.
