Dunno about transmissions but the engine is a 5.8 based off the old 5.4 so it'll be ok.

I found another common problem lol miss fire on cylinder #8.. I found thats all over the forums. I just left my dealer now. I have to say im dissapointed with this engine. The power is great when working 100% but other than that its bad. I might save up and order this new beast

That's beat. I guess ford should have spent more time with the motor and got it 100%

The traditional big block is a thing of the past as far as new cars go. They can get plenty of displacement out of newer small blocks, and they'll just use boost / technology to get the rest of the power they need.
The manufacturers are doing everything they can to increase the mileage on everything - even cars like this.

ive always wanted a terminator. 2 of my friends had em. one was sold, 1 was totaled. the sold one was build by Walsh performance in illinios and he purchased it threw muscle car garage in booton. C4, Whippled, Solid Axle, on spray. thing was a beast.
the other my friend got on a trade. traded his 07 f-250 powerstroke for the cobra and cash. the cobra got the hellion hell rasier and a viper spec t56. he totaled it on rt80 last summer.
also have vids of both cars... but not approcriate to post on these boards

Get a low mile stock one and you will be good to go. Those 03/04 motors were fully built from the factory. They can handle 700hp..

It's not all that ridiculous to think about. The ZR1 is more than likely still faster than this new GT500.
I don't think GM will bother making the ZL1 faster though.

The ZR1 is ~500lbs lighter and more aerodynamic, with a more advanced suspension. It has slightly more torque, and is only rated 12hp less. It will still blow the doors off of the GT500.

Well the history of the ZL1 is very limited in the past. If I recall correctly it was always kinda a one hit wonder and then disappeared. I'm not to say that will be happening again this year but if you look at the history the Cobra is usually just as fast or faster than the SS... and the corvette always crushes everything.

I made no reference to the Camaro ZL1....the only chance it stands against the new GT500 is right off the line, since the 'stang will be sitting there spinning unless you option the package that includes launch control, which the ZL1 comes with standard.

i dont think many would take the GT500 over the ZR1. even thou the HP numbers are close to the same, there still 2 different cars. the ZR1 is a VETTE, the GT500 is still a MUSTANG. 2 different cars, for 2 different things. lets see what time the GT500 puts down at the 'ring and then compare it to the ZR1

This is due to handeld tuners... Every instance known so far has had a handheld tune. It's been mentioned before all over ford forums that some tuners had offered new tunes with less messing of the knock sensors.
This was the major reason why I did not get a 5.0, I would've tuned the car right after I did the first oil change and Ford wasn't screwing around with the cars that had mods..

Yeah, SRT and Camaro engineers are not that happy. Chrysler showed off a 300C 426 concept, but no way that is going to keep up.
If there is any power increase, it will come from ZR1. ZL1 will get no power increase.
GM wouldn't cop to anything in LA.
V6 and GT also got some upgrades in power, but nothing major.

Yea, the main reason I didn't get a ZR1 was gonna basically everyone has em these days.
