5 Tickets what would you do?
So I made some bad life choices today. Got off an on ramp and decided to open it up (like most of us do) and got up there in speed. My radar went off at the last possible moment and a cop was sitting over a small hill in a ditch so no one could see him. I immediately pulled over even before he started his car to chase me down. Needless to say this is what I received.
39:3-74 Obstruction of vision (radar detector)
39:3-33 improper display of plates (i have a bracket around the back plate)
39:4-96 Reckless Driving
39:4-98 Speeding in excess of 30-34 mph (114mph in a 65)
39:4-88A Traffic on marked lanes-nearest right lane (driving in the left lane when no one was in the right lane)
Before you leave me messages like "stop breaking the law jackass" etc... I know I was wrong and I'm probably going to be selling my car because of this. It's too tempting to speed. What would you do in this situation? Thanks in advance.

Reckless driving is a misdemeanor offense. Get a lawyer.

That's good, but I really think you are going to have a bad day in court. How many points are currently on your license? Cause you are looking at around 10 right now and 12 is automatic suspension.

The speeding ticket is the true ball buster in this case, focus on getting that down as low as you can

The couple grand youll spend on a lawyer now will save you so much more in the long run, so i suggest getting one asap... but in all honesty and this isnt meant to offend anyone, why didnt you run?

Get a lawyer. No question. Attempting to elude would be a very risky choice. If you get dinged for that and they state that you were a risk to others that's mandatory jail time.

You are facing imprisonment with a reckless driving ticket. You really don't have many bargaining chips either with those other tickets being so stout. Lawyer up my man.

lawyer is gonna run ya $500-$1000
best he is gonna do is get:
reckless to a careless
30-35 speeding to a unsafe driver ticket deal for $250
and the obstruction, plate and such will probly get nothing or merged to a smaller fine only ticket.
I would go to court by yourself, talk to prosecuter and see what he can merge them down to. if your not happy with what he gets it down to, you can then claim you need a lawyer and postpone the case.

Insurance charges over time should be factored in too, if they don't just flat drop him.

While you can do that, its not going to do anything for you. The judge and prosecutor are going to want to rail you. If the cop shows up for court, eek.

as for the "running" thing... Ive done it. but years ago. wouldnt do it now due to the cameras in their cars. they can have the video zoomed in to get your plate.
if he had run, he could have probly got away. @ 114mph...by the time cop got his car in D and pulled onto highway he wuda been a mile down the road already. ( 120mph = 1 mile in 30sec)

With those tickets... he's not walkin outa there w/out points....even with Jonny Cochran as his lawyer.
I didn't say Not to get a lawyer, just told him to see what he can get done by himself first. I have done it and got 3 tickets all point tickets knocked down to fines only, but I have also gone and got no luck therefore postponing and hiring a lawyer.

No he isn't. I got one of those, not a big deal but the POS judge tricked me. I lost my license for 60 days. Not a big deal but that is most likely what will happen if you dont get a lawyer, the other tickets were to get you to plead guilty on the reckless and speeding and they will probably drop the rest.
Lawyer will be able to get the speeding and reckless reduced and the other 3 dropped. Will save you money in the long run.
