my 1989 camaro z28
I got this car a while back, just a plain Jane RS with T-Tops, and had big thoughts for it's future.we have done a lot to it, We got the car for $1000 from a guy in North jersey, and he had put over $4000 into it in the time he had it. The only problem it had was a crease in the drivers side door. When he totaled his 87' iroc, he put the Australian Borg Warner 9 bolt in it from his iroc with 3.27 gears, and $1000 dollar shocks and struts. The whole undercarriage was de-rusted, and with the car he gave us Brand new flo-tech headers, a new drivers side door, and a bunch of other misc parts to hellp. It also had a FULLY custom leather interior with emboss chevy emblems on the door panels. The other problem was the t-tops leaked. It had went from that to this. Now it has a 355 cop car engine with a radical cam, corvette crank, and other parts. It also has a daytona hood, and 16x9 Torq thrust rims for rear, and 16x8 for the front. I am thinking about getting 91-92 third gen front spoiler. Later in the build of this project, i got the idea of turning it into an Iroc clone it has everything to be an iroc. After the 400+ hp engine went in, the factory 700r4 went from too much horsepower and we got a heavy duty MONSTER TRANSMISSION that can withstand 500 hp. It is absolutely amazing. I will keep you updated, and post pictures soon. there is much more that we have done, i just have not had time to post it. ill post pics later today, but here is a link to many of them.

About it being lowered, it might be. Or it could be blown struts and sagging springs. Easy way to tell if its lowered, an Eibach pro kit spring is charcoal gray, an eibach sportline spring is red. That is the Eibach lowering spring colors. Check for those. I'm not sure of the other lowering springs. Could be cut moogs too. I'm using a Pro Kit spring setup as you may recall from our chat last night. But I can't be sure of what it would look like til I put the motor in. Mine is back on the ground without front springs. Its so damn low now you can step over the radiator support.

You may have a set of Eibach Sportlines on there. Or unless I'm mistaken on their color a set of Hotchkis springs. The sportlines are good for 2 inches, the hotchkis are good for an inch. Looking at the fender gaps I say you're down an inch.

I would have to look that up myself as I don't know it off the top of my head, but I think its around 28.5 inches for factory from the ground to the fender lip. Most lowered cars are in the 26 and 27 range I believe. I already know my car is lower than factory even with sagging rear springs. I put a pro kit in there and I see a difference already. I'm not going by the front because its got no front springs in there yet. I have them just gotta get them in.

I agree, the bra seems to take away from the look of the car, its too cluttered up front with it.

Actually now I don't mind the bra. It looks much cleaner without that top hood portion. But thats me. While you're at it (I dismantled my front bumper and all as well) I would replace all the speed nuts and bolts and screws. Go stainless if you can too. Would make it a piece of cake if you ever took it apart again.
