				Valentine's Day festivities

There seem to be two sides of this spectrum. To those of you who still celebrate with the Ol' Lady, what did you guys do this year?*
We're not exactly celebrating Valentine's Day tonight--(The First Lady's birthday is the 13th) so as part of my birthday gift, her birthday continues through today where we will be driving out to visit her family for a surprise birthday dinner. We'll probably be the only table of 6 in the country, but whatever I'm sure it will be good for a few funny looks
We're celebrating Valentine's Day in a week or two instead. Currently, it looks like we'll be going to The Lion King for a dinner and show night in the city.

After a few disappointing deliveries (presentation wise) from 1800flowers in years passed, I've sworn them off. Until I find a good local place, it looks like she's going to have to settle for a card**, lots of bacon & prerecorded Friends reruns.

What are you married/committed guys & gals doing today? Share; after all, "variety is the spice of life!"
*I figured I'd post this before the jump, rather than at the end of the day. You know, maybe give one or two folks some options to mull over, in case the Idea Well was running dry.

**Crap! I just reminded myself I haven't filled it out yet. Gotta go!

Small gifts and box of chocolate. We made dinner together last year. This year we are going to this Italian place in Woodbridge we really like. We don't feel a need to go all out for a made up holiday but doesn't mean we can't make it an occasion to do a few nice things.

Today, made the wife breakfast. Plans later on include ordering dinner and having a quiet movie night home. Also plan on spending the whole day with her and my daughter, haven't been doing that much with 2 jobs.

I usually boycott such a Hallmark holiday. However this year I'm taking the misses to philly for dinner and to see jerry Seinfeld, but next Friday.

Her year to cook, we usually stay in and just cook fancy stuff for dinner. Flowers and card etc. but nothing terribly cliche Vday shens wise.
Think we are going ice skating today, should be interesting..

Two takeaways so far: Jerry Seinfeld idea is awesome and I, don't want, -NEED- video of Smash on skates.

Spent the day baking chocolate cupcakes with my wife while the kids were playing Forza 5. She also cooked up ravioli, and I made a cheese platter with grapes. Now we will probably watch Psycho. She hates Valentine's Day.

I let her sleep in a little longer than normal this morning. She got a huge card from the boys and since I'm working a double tonight (4:00pm until 8:00am) I got her a card that jokes about letting her have the covers tonight.
