He will likely be in for a bad surprise when he tries to actually collect the raffle money.

Dem starry eyed LT1 owners, at it again.

Can't wait for the tragic ending.

Yeah that is a terrible idea for a page with small traffic to begin with.

It works. The Lt community is dying and he is probably struggling to sell the kit. This will make someone's day.

Sigh. Lol. What was their reasoning behind that? Protect their sacred super awesome posts to gain users? Lol

They wanted to keep a super private LTX community. Commendable but foolish IMO.

Semi well known turbo LT1 bird was parted out. The turbo kit is up for sale but in raffle format. People who WANT to be in on the raffle ($35/ticket) can tell the owner how many they PLAN on purchasing. Once he gets to 75 tickets, he will start collecting money.

Agreed. Slippery slope. Actually collecting $ up front would certainly limit folks jumping in early.

It is smart though since you aren't as likely to get someone with $3500 to buy the whole kit.....anyone wanna buy 385 lt1 raffle tickets????

The government cares about everything whether they need to or not. Anything to put on a show or collect a tax.

In some cases it's to protect the ticket buyers.

So it's not "Collect $3500 and give the prize to my friend"

Well yeah, if he asks the money via paypal "gift", then f*k no. He is from what I can tell, a well known guy in the LTx community, so it may be legit.
