				Finally we have power!

Been without power for 5 days now. We lost power on Saturday during the storm. Brought back memory's of super storm sandy, when we lost power for 2 weeks. We finally ordered up a generator from amazon, which should be delivered today. Next time we will be ready.

Ours went out Monday when a nasty wind blast came in front of the storm. Thankfully it was back in 3 hours. Some other local areas were nearly a day.

I lost power for a few days as well. Was a rough night of sleep in the humidity and then I said F it, dragged the dogs and myself to my parents.
Have started to look into tranfer switches and a large portable genset.

I got lucky and only lost power for ~8 hours.
Not so lucky last Thursday when lightning hit one of my neighbors house and fried a bunch of my electronics.

You can get a whole house surge suppressor that you can install right at the main panel that may help with that in the future.
Also, I've been slowly but surely putting all my delicate electronics on UPS.

Yea, the whole house surge only requires a 2 pole breaker and is a quick install. I've done a few. I just need to get one for my house eventually.

 | I didn't know about these, thank you, I'm going to look into it.

I have surge protectors but they're old and apparently useless.
