It will look like a Camaro. Not a First gen, nor a 2nd, third or 4th...deffinatly not the 4th gen.
It will look like a 5th gen.
If you are questioning weither or not its gunna be RWD or V8, I would assume that most of you still treat GM as the same as it was 5, 10, 15 years ago where it didnt really matter, it was what sold.
GM is not stupid, they know what it needs.
You neve rhad to pay extra for the 6spd manual. Only on the GTO is that the case. C6, the 6spd manual is standard, and the 4spd, now 6spd auto, is a no cost option.
All that is basic crap that is a given.
Things like front and rear suspension set up, seating hight, interior ergonomics, wheel base and size of the vehicle are more of a concern since the 3 you mention are deffinates.
Will we be happy with strut/live axle? Sure, thoes who want to pay 30k for a 400hp drag racer will want the live axle. But for me, when I spend upwards of 30k, I actualy want the car to handle, brake, and go fast as well. Sigma's SLA front and multi link IRS is a fantastic set up, world class if you will, and is alread certified for the LS2, as well as 6spd manual, 5spd auto and 6spd auto trans. And as Caddy moves on to Sigma II, Sigma I still remains for the lesser brands. I could live with a well put together strut front end, BMW has had major sucess with that, but I would really like a strong IRS.

Having read the latest "muscle car" articles compare the GTO to the new Mustang it's a huge insult. It's like saying hey, we just gave up trying to compete with the mustang and here's our more expensive slower selling pontiac muscle car that has the same problem as the camaro before it got canned!

More expensive, yes...slower selling? Depends on how you look at it.
GTO is going to sell over expectation this year, and going to hit its mark of 16k I belive.
Mustang, on the other hand, has the luxury of a mass volume V6, as well as a V8, and vert models as well. They are also produced cheaper, and there are a lot more of them in a plant that was designed to make 200k Mustangs a year, as suposed to Holdens already maxed out plant, trippling the number of Monaros they make a year. So is the GTO going ot sell slower? Not really, they are moving fast. Are they going to sell at a smaller number compared to the mass marketed, home grown Mustang...I sure ****ing hope so, or Ford better pack it up.
And the same problem as the Camaro before it got canned? Errr, what "problem"?
BTW, did you know that even though the 2004 GTO sold just under expectation, they still sold more GTO's in 04, then 2002 Trans Ams in 2002? And Mustang Cobra's in 2003 and 2004?
As for the comment about less models, Pontiac is now merged in with Buck and GMC. Most of their dealerships are grouped as one anyway, so basicly Pontiac will have one car while Buick will have another, but they will not have the same cars. So there wont be a GTO AND a Buck V8 Coupe.
