Yea, plus I can get a more stable OC on the old PIII box when the AC is cranked up

My a/c is set on 71 degrees until it starts to cool back down in Sept. or Oct... Plus, my wife is pregnant and she is ALWAYS hot anymore and I weld during the day and sweat my ass off so I want it to be as comfortable as possible when I get home..

Holy crap, AC set at 71 degrees! When we do turn on the AC at home we have it set at 80-82 which is very comfortable when it removes the humidity. What do you set the heat at in the winter? My relatives set their house at 75! We run the heat at 62-64 but I don't have kids so I can keep it lower like that. So it appears that the average person here has a comfort temperature span of less than 5 degrees! That is flat out scary. Now think of what you would be doing to your kids by keeping them in such a controlled environment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

My daughter is outside everyday except rain/thunderstorms obviously.... I keep the heat around 68.....I understand where you are coming from but I'll be damn if I am goin to sweating my ass off at home too.... Also, if you are truely a conservative then I expect that you A) ride a bike to work or B) take public transportation?

Hmmm, I never said I was a conservative. I just said that most people waste a lot of energy and it appears I am correct. Look at some of the replies from people who leave their PC on all day and then need AC to cool the room! That's fine if you're hosting a website but for a person to leave a PC on all night while sleeping, then all day while they are at work is a waste. AC on during the day while you're at work is also a waste. Our office at work is set around 74-76 degrees which is almost too cool with the humidity pulled out. 71 degrees must be ice cold. But I'm not just making a point about AC, I'm making a point about wasted energy. Like the person at my work that sits in their car at lunch with it running. Personally, I've put less than 10,000 miles on my truck since I bought it back in October of 2004.
