Yes, they should be.

Don't do a dumbass thing like me, put the stock tune back and head over to inspection. (computer was rejected) I had to cycle the computer through and 10 minutes later it passed.

HA! I wound up doing that 2 years ago (uninstalled Hypertech for the stock tune). Literally kicked myself in the ass when the "REJECTED" sticker was issued just for the sensors "NOT READY". I'm going this year with the Hypertech installed hoping the car will pass OBDII testing with the Hypertech in place.

Bandit, any reason you put the stock tune back in before inspection? Thanks!

I would like to know this too. My inspection is not due till May but I just got my registration and would like to know if I can go for inspection tomorrow (just to get it out of the way while my car does not have a SES light). NJMVC.GOV says "up to two months prior to the expiration date". Does that mean "month-to-month" or does this mean March 31st is the earliest I can go? Thanks!

TMK, if a car qualifies for the test that is basically a code scan, it does not matter if it is a state facility or a private one. Private garages do not put every car on the roller if they do not have to. If that is the question.

Oops, sorry about that. My question was regarding the second paragraph where NightRydaSS is asking about going 2 months in advance (I'm wondering if this means "month-to-month" or if March 31st is the earliest I can go).

My 395 stroker passed NJ State Inspection at a state run facility. The guy stalled my car about 5 times and the other guys were yelling at him "that's too much car for ya!" Keep in mind my inspection sticker was 2 years past due!
Emissions = Passed...They only plugged in to check for codes, they did not put on rollers etc
3" Catted Y= Passed...They only did the mirror visual check
Shock/Suspension Test = Passed...Machine wouldn't work b/c the car shook too much from motor/cam
MT ET Street drag radials = Passed..Tires were brand new and they kept looking and then realized they were DOT w/ plenty of tread
Shift light on steering column = Passed..I told the guy it was a low oil pressure light
My .02 cents
