+1....spiking your insulin after a workout is good. try about 30 carbs of something sugary (no high fructose corn syrup), i drink gatorade, and then a protein shake.

My Gatorade powder:
Sucrose, Dextrose, citric acid, naturual and artificial flavor, salt, sodium citrate, monopotassium phosphate, coconut oil, blue 1, red 40.
But, that's why I use the powder

Yes the gatorade powder is different. But the liquid ones do have a ton of HFC lol. I cant believe nobody mentioned water. Water is probably the single most helpful thing. It will keep your blood pressure down and prevent all kinds of bad things from happening. Get this book called nutrient timing. It sounds like a good plan although i havent gotten to try to the entire thing yet. Also the reality diet has some good info. The actual diet plan is crap unless your retired and rich and can spend 1.5 hours cooking for every meal. Check them out

Yea, it was a rhetorical question, that stuff in liquid form is god awful. Makes you lose weight but convulsing.

I read and practice the nutrient timing principles. I thought what you were saying sounds familiar! They say a 4:1 simple carb to protein shake quickly after a workout to keep your insulin levels where they should be, and I think dextrose is what they say you should use to accomplish that goal. Been a while since I read it though.

if you're looking for solid information, there is no better source than Muscular Development magazine. they have the tried and true info from professional competitors down to the guy who's just trying to get rid of the spare tire. the only magazine that had more information in it, including the real deal with steroids and competition, was Muscle Media 2000. i think they produce a few magazines under the title Muscle Media, too, but i don't think they're in print anymore. Amazon is a good place to find used, out of print magazines.
anyway, if you want a good price, contact muscular development through:
Terry Mirable
ADVANCED RESEARCH PRESS, INC
690 RT 25A
SETAUKET, N.Y. 11733
631-751-9696 800-653-1151 FAX 631-751-9699
if you tell her jim price sent you, i'm sure she will give you the same pricing i got. just make sure to tell her that you want a subscription to muscular development. her email address is tmirabile@arp-ink.com; for subsciptions only (don't use it to ask questions, as i am sure she won't answer emails like that).
they sell for $6 on the newstand and they're as thick as a phone book. the last time i resubscibed for 2 more years, and i think they charged me like $48. it's a good investment and it gets through all of the crap straight to the heart of the subject.

Stay away from hydroxycut!!! I tryed it for about 2 weeks or so didnt see any effects from taking it so I stoped. I had the worst migrane for like 2 days after stoping nothing would stop it either taking like 3 advil every 4-6 hrs for the first day nothing. I was 290 and currently my wight hovers around 210-220. I lost about 70 lbs from just diet changes alone no exercise. Ive hit a "wall" in my weight loss because I dont have the time to go to the gym and work out right now.

but youre not going to see much improvement idont think with xenadrine and stuff...hydroxy cut reduces your water weight (pretty much just when your fatty cells hold too much water, it drains them, or is supposed to atleast, people used to use it for wrestling when i was in school) but other than that, try just like a whey protien, thats supposed to help burn weight too...if you cut your meals then you can actually gain weight due to your metabolism slowing down. when i was getting in shape i went through a lot of this stuff too...found that just eating right and workign out was the best way. also, try waking up early and going for a run, running first thing in the morning helps boost your metabolism but also burns more fat due to the fact that you have nothign but metabolized sugar in your system.
hope this helps...good luck!

Its all about how each one interacts with your body. I've been taking hydroxy for four weeks and love it. I'm taking hydroxy three times a day, CLA, and multi vitamins and riding the bike twice a day for an hour each and I'm averaging burning 1.25 - 1.5 pounds per day.
