1LE is a performance package, equipping Camaro's for SCCA racing class. Gave you bigger sway bars, AC delete, 2 pistion calipers with larger rotors as well as disk brakes in the rear, aluminum driveshaft, and some other tweeks.
I belive there was also a radio-delete, but my knowlage of third gens have fallen for a while.
1LE's could only be had in TPI 305/5spd manual or TPI 350/Auto with no ttops. Very rare, low production model.

Side note:
The 1le option is not limited to 3rd gen Camaros.

Some 1LE links I've found.
http://www.camarowiki.com/index.php/...Generation_1LE
http://cartersclassicmusclecars.com/...g%20series.htm
I've always knew about & liked the idea of the 1LE cars, but now that I own one and I'm researching the crap out of it there was a lot i never knew too. And some things are up in the air as far as options go. Some people tell me one thing, others say different. The usual opinionated "expert" forum BS.
There are actually 1LE's out there with creature comforts, leather, etc. Even a few T-top cars are rumored to exist(this I can't put truth to). The jist of it seems to be the fact that if you ordered a car WITH ac, you got a factory Z28 with some suspension goodies. If you ordered it without ac, you got an option stripped factory racecar with C4 style front brakes, 18 gallon baffled fuel tank, different fuel pump, and all kinds of other stuff.
Mine is a no ac car. I have yet to get it on the lift but from what I see the car's tied together just about everywhere, it's damned impressive. Has factory subframe connectors, strut bars, the cage...which I'm getting mixed info on. Some say there were cars that had it stock, some say not. No one can provide definate proof one way or the other. I heard only the ACTUAL SCCA cars got cages, but then I've seen quite a few 1LE's with an identical cage to mine, and all owners claiming it was there stock...

The baffled gas tank is really really cool.

I apologize, I just found out this is actually an incorrect statement. The wording of the info I read made it sound like there were 2 different brake options but actually ALL 1LE's had the bigger brakes & suspension. All else is kosher. Like I said, I'm still learning.

Just took a quick teaser vid, just a short walkaround. Go easy on it...the car's absolutely filthy after all this insane weather. I'll take good pics after it gets nice and I have a chance to clean/wax it. The vid doesn't do the car justice in the slightest so you probably won't be too impressed right now. It's just to give you a basic idea...

No apology necessary. Car looks great.
Where's the crossbar on the roll bar? Looks like it has removable side bars?

If the car is a 92 Z28, shouldnt it have the High Rise spoiler and third brake light in the hatch? This car appears to have a 87-90/base spoiler with the third brake light. I have seen a few other 92 1LE Z28's and they all had the High Rise.
Have you checked the small compartment in the rear drivers side trunk for the RPO sheet? On later cars the SPID sticker was placed there instead of in the center console.

Thanks!! The rollbar apparently ISN'T factory according to a few 1LE experts I've been back & forth with. They have a theory but it can't be proved without paperwork. I have seen a few other 1LE's with the EXACT same cage though, and most of the owners claim it was in their cars since new as well. Either way it's cool, factory or not.
It does look like there are spots for side bars too.

Yea I said that in my 1st post. The orig owner removed the high rise, no clue why. The hatch is the original with the 3rd brake light at the top, the wing isn't though. My RPO sheet looks like it's been removed but I did a vin lookup and found all my RPO codes. Everything's there that should be except the wing, which I'll remedy as soon as I can.

Looks good, it definitely needs the correct spoiler though, that low spoiler ruins it.

That car is gorgeous. Id love to know what the "ridiculous" price was that you paid for it lol. Id kill for that car.

i wouldve ditched the huge high rise spoiler in favor of the 3 piece. the 3 piece is the best looking spoiler for the thirdgens. the high rise is too tacky and doesnt look right with the corner of the tails cutting into the body and nothing to hug it
