I assume it will start in the high 20s. No LF3 (tt3.0) for Impala as well as no awd.

It's very different in person. You can pick out s little Infiniti M in the rear quarters and Sonata in the tail, but the rest is unique.

IMO thats a dumb move for GM. At least have the option for it and a V8, the charger has too much of that pie piece. I may be wrong but i thought i heard something about the taurus being awd at some point?

There will be a limited run of RWD Chevy sedans starting next model year. Impala is NOT that car. Chevrolet has already announced that they will launch an all new car for NASCAR that will also be in production. This would be the return of the "G8".

Ford is the only company that offers AWD option for its midsized and full sized sedans.
Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan and VW do not offer AWD for any of their sedans. Remember that Impala is the full-sized leader.
The Impala lacking AWD has sparked controversy, but in the end, it will not be that big of a deal. No one has had any problem before today.

If you look at the sales numbers right now, Impala trounces the LX twins. You could argue that fleet sales make up the numbers, but realize that the LX cars fleet percentage is still high. When you factor in how many AWD models they sell, it is very little.
With that said, the platform can take it and it is beyond me why they won't offer it. If I had to guess, it was to simplify aka lower cost of production so they could up the luxury and features game. I also suspect that the powers to be at Buick had something to say about it, since Impala and LaX will be sharing similar market space.

Infiniti is a luxury car company. Impala sells more units a year than Infiniti does as an entire company.
