Here's an example for the battery thing; reserve minutes is the ability for a battery to sustain a constant 35amps of load. Most new batteries can handle an hour of this kind of load before hitting 10.5 volts. So there should be NO possible way you're car will kill the battery or won't start from running a couple runs with no charging system.
When the car is off, keep the waterpump off. You won't be gaining much of anything keeping the waterpump on.
