just because nostalgia is big right now does not mean that an all-new camaro would do well. that's apples and oranges.
trucks are big right now. they don't seem big to us because we've got our noses buried in the performance car market. hey, even mitsudouchie is getting back into the truck market after they abandoned it in the late '80s. sales is what the car companies are after, not a nice car that just takes up space in the showroom and on the lot. they are not in the business of storing cars...
i understand where they are going and what they've got planned. that doesn't mean i am happy with it. right now you've only got the choice of the GTO or the vette. they say the SSR and cobalt will be movers and shakers, but i'm from missouri when it comes to **** like that: show me.
i don't like pontiac's line at all outside of the imported monaro (which, if you look at it like i do, really isn't pontiac at all) with a Chevy motor in it. i really like the cadillac just because of the LS2. if they hadn't gotten serious about racing, we would never have seen a car like that from them. add in the upgrades from a company like Katech and you're talking about pounding vettes into the ground. i likey.
i don't foresee the camaro coming back at this point. regardless of platform, i just don't think it will be the moneymaker for them.
