police car auction

on april 16th, 8:00 a.m. i'll be on stuyvesant avenue in trenton to check out the state surplus vehicle auction. from reading the available list they have on their website it looks like there will be some '94-96 caprices up for sale. i've been thinking about picking one up to use as a daily, so i'll be there if anyone is interested in meeting up. registration (you have to register if you want to bid on anything) is between 8 and 9 a.m. (i imagine if you came later and wanted to register, they'd let you - but i don't know how quickly they will be auctioned off and i don't want to miss anything).

I've been looking around for a low mile Z-56 Tahoe. Those things are hard to find. Maybe I'll head over there and check it out.

so, i ended up getting a '99 crown vic. very clean car, 110,000 miles, nice paint and only one ding in the trunk lid. smoke the windows out, get the headlight waggles and some halogen flashers in the turn signal housings and people will finally get out of the left lane in front of me...

got it for 2800, KBB lists it at $7k, plus $2k for the CNG hookup. oh yeah, i'll be burning clean, too.

i got done real early, and drove by the church - natch, no one was there yet. so i headed on home and got some other stuff done.

it's a NJ state official's car. although i don't know the specifics on it, i doubt it was a state trooper's car because of the CNG. i don't know anything else, unfortunately, but a title-search later might turn something up. i'll be picking it up on wednesday, so pics will follow.
