69 TA Vert
Another 69 Trans Am convertable has surfaced.

Read the description below. They claim to have sold a 69 TA for $188,000!

Wanted this - , but ended up with this - for free. Can't argue with free.

Nice looking car. I find it very hard to believe that they sold one for $188k though. I've seen NOS HEMIs sell for less.

I just offered up my soul, we'll see if he takes. Â*I figure no since he's got me anyway when it's my time. Â* Dammit.
*Edit* The wording doesn't sit right with me. "Complete Recreation" and "We sold a REAL T/A for $188K." Is it a true T/A Vert or is it a clone? Nice car either way, but that's a pretty vague description.

Something isn't right about that auction. First off they made 697 Trans Ams in 69 and 8 of them were convertibles. So I don't know what his 104 number is. His description in the auction is completely lousy and if you were looking to get $250K or more for a car, that won't do it. A real 69 TA conv will sell for $300-500K easily today. I don't know Pontiac VIN numbers but I would start by making sure it looks legit and then check with PHS. I didn't think any of the cars had AC either.

COMPLETE RECREATION WAS COMPLETED IN 2001. WE SOLD A REAL TRANS AM FOR $188,000 THREE YEARS AGO, THIS VEHICLE WILL ONLY GO UP IN VALUE!
Not a legit one... but a recreation

teh vin sequencing was similar to teh camaro. the protecto plate is what would hold the magic.
i think that sounds a bit shady too. hopefully someone from POCI is around and can have it checked out.
later

Wow, I had no idea they're worth that much. They all came white with the blue stripes right?

Yes, white with blue stripes and I think you could get white, blue or black interior but I'm not 100% positive. Â*Yeah, that statement they make "complete recreation" makes it sound like a clone. Â*If it's real, it should say "complete restoration". Â*Even if it isn't 1 of the 8, it's a sweet looking car.

I've seen a white interior and a blue interior T/A so far. I think you also had the option of either a 350 or a 400 too. I wonder how many '69 T/A verts were 400s

Well, you can keep your soul, it appears this car is a clone. It's a nice looking car but I think the ad is very deceiving by making it sound like the real thing. The "recreation" part is what hints at a clone.
