Grand Prix GXP - ls1 derivative engine backed by a 4t65e Can you say ticking time bomb? You couldn't pay me to own that thing out of warranty.

Although the G6 GTP with the 6 speed manual might be a decent car actually. I'll definitely at least drive one of them next time i'm car shopping (granted that's a few years off). And since it's obvious that gm probably isn't going to get their **** together on some real rear drive offerings any time soon, it would be nice to see the g6 gtp 6 speed and an all wheel drive system make the rounds.

GP GXP will be coming out very soon as production is starting. Reviews done by people driving them at GM Ride and Drive's say that it is one well packaged vehicle. Brakes feel good, handling is fantastic for a FWD car, and the torque steer is noticable. But with 303hp 5.3 V8...what did you want? It also has DoD, so it saves you on gas. GP GXP will start under 30k.

There is no G6 GXP as of right now. There was a concept for SEMA that had the 3.6 DOHC VVT V6 making 275hp mated to a 6spd manual. It IS a very sweet car, and if they can price it right will deffinatly beat up on cars like the Altima SE-R, and even as high as the Acura TL.
There is a G6 GTP coming out with the 3.9 OHV VVT making 240hp/240ftlbs. That could be had with a 6spd. The GTP's also get a hydraulic steering set up, large 18 inch wheels and a host of other goodies. Price starts at 25k, and loaded will climb near 30k.
