heyy new guy here... (with story)
Just thought I'd say hi... total new guy here... love the F-Body and have been a fan ever since I was a frosh in highschool... just thought I'd share a story... to make the post more than "hey.. whats up.. I'm Kevin... thanks for letting me join.. yada yada yada"....
I designed websites when I was 16 in highschool... and saved up to buy an awesome 95z28.. loved that thing.. awesome awesome car... i had it for exactly three months and on oct 28th 2001 I decided to speed it and see how fast I could get it to go. I got up to 140mph on a short road in the middle of the night, and ended up going into a 50ft traintrack embankment.... these are two pics of the car... I have more if anyone wants to see them

You can see me and my sister standing in the background of the second pic. Needless to say, it was probably the DUMBEST thing I could've ever done... and it took me a good 3 yrs to save up for another camaro. Now I just have a regular fbody... a newer one w/ only 30,000 miles on it... but still... I drive like a grandmother now. Believe it or not the engine was still good... so a friend of mine and I parted it out and I sold the LT1 which bought me the car I drove for 3 yrs till I got the camaro I have now. I've shared my story w/ kids a lot quite a bit telling them why you should NOT speed.. I'm literally lucky to be here talking with you guys. Believe it or not... I got threw the accident without a single scratch on me... and a friend of mine, who was in the car with me when I had the accident, also did not have one thing happen to him. I guess the man upstairs was looking out for me huh?
Anyways, I was a total idiot i know and that is an understatement. Anyways, hope that was an enjoyable story... everyone I tell it to always goes.. "holy S**T... " lol... looking forward to meeting some of you guys and attending some of the get togethers and possibly the meet in august.. it's literally right down the street from where I am... as is the comfort inn that everyone is staying at. Anyways, catch you guys later...
- Kevin

wow, sucks about the car, but you are VERY lucky you made it out of that. What road were you on? (I live in hackettstown) I dont remember hearing about that accident, but that was actually the beginning of my frosh year of college so i mighta missed it. Sounds like something that would have been talked about though. Did you go to HHS? if so, what year did you graduate?

Hey.. yeah actually it WAS talked about... lol.. but I went to Warren Hills and graduated in 02' so it was talked about bigtime among the kids that were in the Washington area. I was getting gas at the Citgo on 57 right across from the Riverstar Diner the other day, and the dude who pumped my gas went... "bro, didnt you crash one of these in highschool?"... it was pretty funny...It happened on where McCoulough Road (right by Changewater road)... and Rt. 57 meet in Washington.. right before where the current DMV is there... thats where the train tressle is that I went into. It's right across from a motel I believe...

First off Welcome, and glad to hear that you came out of that ok. I was stupid enough to do that once, and will never do it again. Too much crap that can happen on the street to have to worry about. Nice looking LS1, gotta post some more pics.

Welcome to the club!
That looks like one hell of a nasty wreck, you're definetly lucky to make it out of that unharmed.

Welcome to the club.
A wrecked car = good experience, as long as you can both walk away from it, and learn from it.
Oh yeah, and as long as you can repair or replace it too. :P
