so you werent doing anything? you didnt spin the tires or race at all? if so, then go to court with it...if they cant prove you did it with video (dash mounted camera) or something, i dont think the tickets will hold up.

Get a lawyer. Yes, it's expensive, but not as expensive as those tickets will be.

If all you did was pull up and park to talk to somebody, I don't see how they could even give you a ticket. Do they have video of you doing these "burnouts" or video of you watching this street race? I'd be fighting that bs all the way.

my friend's uncle is a philly cop and he said they do NOT have video in the patrol cars. a car did a burnout in front of us while we sat there, and disappered. i swear like 30 seconds later the cops show up. my friend's uncle said they probably did that to make it look liek we were watching racing, so they have something to show in court just to meet their quota or some ****. i dont know wtf to do

Hey man, that sucks, I agree, take it to court. If they don't have any evidence how can they prove it! Good luck man!!

Wait so you got pulled over in PA?
I thought points dont transfer state to state, most of the time you only pay a fine. Even if its a fine its still worth fighting.

if it's your word against the cop's word, the judge will likely side with the cop. it's this thing about judges and if they walk outside they could probably spot 15 moving violations, so the cops have a hard enough time without the judge second guessing their tickets. it sucks, but that's the way it is. the only other way you could attempt this is if you talk with the prosecutor beforehand, but if he doesn't agree to dropping the serious charges then just ask for a continuance so you can have the opportunity to consult with an attorney.
get a lawyer. it's the only way you have a chance in hell. check out some of the internet lawyer sites (for advice) which will basically tell you the same thing unless you can come up with some concrete evidence to support your story. use the words "fight speeding ticket" for a search of decent sites.

I'm with you on this. If I'm not-guilty I fight tooth and nail, if I am, I still fight but only to plea it down to a fine and no points

that's ********....reminds me of something that happened to me last summer:
i pulled into my driveway around 12:30 A.M. or so, maybe 1 A.M., and get out of the car just as a cop pulls up in front of my house. I live in a quiet neighborhood, very little goes down in my town, so a cop showing up is something rare. I said "evening, officer, anything i can help you with?" he asked me if i had been over near Alexander Avenue (street off of Rt. 23). I told him no, i hadn't been over there. He said he saw two tire marks going across Rt. 23. I told him again, I wasn't anywhere near Rt. 23 that night (which i hadn't been). He said he was just making sure, and drove off. If he had pressed the issue, I would have brought up the "two tire marks" thing, since my Camaro has an open diff. Impossible for me to leave two marks
Go to court, and fight that ****. If they have no proof, then the case will be tossed out.
The key thing is PROOF. the burden of proof is on the state/town, etc. if they have no proof, they can't convict you.

this is what we are all led to believe, but traffic court is different in practice. like i said, if it's his word against the cop's, he will lose. no ifs, ands or buts. the only PROOF the judge needs is that the cop says he saw you doing burnouts.
Guilty, $200 fines, $50 court costs, pay the clerk. next case.

Yeah, but this is for "street racing" which he wasn't doing and it can result in a lost license so you have to fight it.

yup but like jim said if its word vs. word he'll loose...wonder if having the other kids with you would make a difference as far as now you've got 2 or 3 people vs. just him saying you werent racing? I doubt it though...maybe the cop just needs better glasses?
