Your first street race?
What was the first car you ever street raced against?
1 week after buying my T/A back in 2000 I pulled up to the light next to a red WS6 and beat him by half a car

Some guy called me and my whole club out with his 12.7 second 5.0 stang. He was totally clueless. He wanted us to race out there in chatsworth, and I told him to take it to atco.
The man is always keeping someone down lol

Never have, never will. I've played around at stop lights and such, but never to a set speed, with a definite opponent, etc. I live 10 mins from a track, why the hell would i?

Not everyone agrees with street racing. It was just a question.

1st with the Z28- A month or so after I got it, against a 98 or so GT. Got him by about a car length.
1st with the SS- Against a Newer Vette took him out of the hole, but at the time my summitt distributor would kill my power in the upper RPMs so he caught up. (My car is has a stock converter too) That WILL NOT happen again. Not with the new MSD distributor in there, and soon to be a 3600 ATI converter.

First street race was the dumbest move ever...
I JUST got my licence, and just got control over the Z.
It had 10 year old BFG Comp TA's on it with 10 year old brakes and brake lines, and havent had a tune up in probably the same time.
We got out of Fast and Furious, and my friend brought his big blue 1500 Silvy with a KN FIPK and dual exhaust with some other mods.
I had 2 people in the car outside of me, as did he.
We line up at the light...we gun it. He got the jump, but I just pulled and just kept going to 120mph. Its an open 4 lane highway, but feels like a 40 lane highway.
Later that night, I was pulled over for doing 80 in a 50, on the same road we had raced.

Yeah I hear ya...that same GT i raced with my Z (hes an old friend of mine) pulled up next to me about two months later at the same damn light (unintentional this time) and we went again, At this point i was making a little more power the light turned green and i laid into it a little to fast and blew the tires up in smoke, he had traction control and took off like a bat outta hell. My Camaro is Green and his Stang is Orbit Orange and this was at 12:30 am. The cop heard the screeching tires (Me) and saw my buddy hauling ass, and pulled him over. Half an hour later and about $350 in ticket fines he was lookin again for me cause it wasnt a fair race.
BTW he came lookin for me only to get smoked again.

no one ever wants to race me on the street...ah well.
i dont go looking for it, at lights and stuff i always listen to see if someone is revving their engines at me. i give em a glance to make sure im not being stared at either. nothing ever comes of it.
although there was that one time just after i got the engine in and the car running decent. i was sitting at a light, a durango (older kind, not the hemi type) was in the lane next to me. i looked over/up to see who was in the car...the guy driving and his wife (i assume) looked down at me. i thought nothing of it...light goes green and i see his front end jump and his rear end squat. all i think is wtf. i lightly accelerate (seriously) and go past him but i dont know what was going on. he just drove on (i let off at 50, and then he flew past me like i was standing still) and i turned.

I think you took my response the wrong way. I was just giving you an answer, no attitude or anything insinuated at all. To each his own with street racing, I really just dont have any reason to. I probably would if I lived further away then i do, good thing thats not the case

First time I raced was when I just had all my exhaust work done with a tuneup... against a 96 Maxima with C/A and a fart can. Needless to say, I won by a 1/4 panel. The thing is...... it was down a hill

I see now.....it's cool.
I used to street race anywhere, now it's just on secluded back roads. The only thing I'm racing now though is my cars in GT4 since the T/A is still down. DAMN COMP............make it and send it already AHHHHHHHHHH!! Sorry lol

my first street race ever - i had an old 1990 Celica GT, 5-spd. it was a nice little car, decent handling, and quick acceleration off the line thanks to low gearing and light weight. I was driving in Wayne late one night, on my way to pick up my brother from his friend's house. I pulled up to a light, with an older VW Golf next to me. It had a fart can on it, sounded like ass (literally). The light turns green, and I got a perfect launch. I had like 2 car lengths on him. My windows were open at the time, a great feeling of the wind rushing in. all of a sudden, i hear "PSSSSShhhh" to my right. I was like "Oh......****." Turbo. the Golf rocketed past me, and didn't stop. I laughed it off, it was kinda funny.
1st race with the Camaro - it was about a week after i got the car. I was driving on Rt. 23 around midnight or so. I spotted a ricey 3000GT (base model), fart can and aluminum wing. I pulled up next to him at a light. there were two people in the car, and the passenger was laughing when i pulled up next to him. the light turns green, i got a good launch, slight tire chirp, and put a 1/2 car length on him. it stayed that way till 110 MPH, and then the 3000GT backed off. I felt pretty damn good.

I dont even remember , but I think the first taste of loss was at E-town, when my 3 o crap powered T/A ran a 17 something, I was devestated. So I didnt run anyone since then since it was such a piece of ****.
In my camaro, well I really havent had any good real runs from a dig.

My car is not worthy of street racing. But it did take a pass down the track. 17.8. Still got the slip around here. Raced Justin's mom's minivan (wth Justin driving...if you can call it that, at least at first ).

1972 pontiac grand ville, 455sd motor from a trans am with a th400, 3.08:1 rear. even given the weight, i smoked just about everything on the road except for purpose built cars. i took it to atco and came back with a 14.52, which is exceptional for any car weighing that much. even my dad didn't believe it (and he was kinda pissed that i was out racing his car).
my first street race was against a datsun 280. burnt rice. btw, it was 1981.

I think my first street race was in Philly it was against some g-body that sounded pretty healthy. Needless to say he raped my 14 second car with ease.
