Finally quit smoking!
After smoking since I was around 17 (20 now), roughly a pack a day... and now that I see my grandfather slowly dying of Emphezyma, it took me 4 weeks to finally go about 5 days without the need for nicotene, or a cigarette for that matter. It was a bad habit in the first place, and finally ditched it. So no more smoking for me, and I encourage others to stop as well. My grandfather spends about 45 minutes on-the-hour breathing on an oxygen tank.
And lemme say
to the 10% extra body weight, cuz I need it

Congrats man. My dad has smoked since he was in his teens and he is now 58. I haven't seen or talked to him in almost 4 years since my mom and him got a divorce when I was 13(14 years ago)
Your way better off.

my dad used to smoke, before my uncle had a heart attack. my dad then became very health-conscious, and quit.
my mom, on the other hand, has been smoking since she was 16. she's now 45. she doesn't smile in pictures, because her teeth are yellow. she has coughing fits a few times a day, really bad hacking coughs. she tried to quit last year, and lasted about a day. she smokes three or four packs a day, every day. she's the reason i don't smoke or do drugs (not that she does drugs, but the effect cigarettes have had on her keeps me away from anything addictive, except for alcohol and even then, i don't drink very often.)

Best way to stop smoking is to take a $5 and a $1. Find out how many you smoke a day and add it up. But not just on paper. Actually pile the money up.
So in your case it was $180 a month. $2160 a year. And in the 3 years, $6480
