State Trooper caught me

Around mid-night i get a call from my friend Meghan that she's stuck in Hoboken (drunk and missed the last train back to summit) So me being the nice guy i am, I borrow my friend Samanthas 00' Eclipse (The camaro can't leave summit....) So im flying down 78 east and im doing about 100 and in the distance right after the maplewood on ramp i see a Trooper so i slow down to about 80. After i pass him i go a little bit more and im ghost.....like 115-120. After Hillside/Irvington i slow down to about 80 again and start crusing...Thinking my radar didn't go off he didn't get me hes no where around WRONG. By exit 57 i dropped to about 70 and my radar starts going off...thinking im doing 70 he doesn't have ***** on me. Im by the 1&9 north on ramp and cherrys pop on right as im under the bridge of 1&9 about to get onto the ramp. He's saying he "Paced" me doing 80 or so then clocked me at 72 back by exit 57 and that it took him 6 miles to get up to me. and that he did over 100 to get to me. Im thinking ***** this can't happen...im making good time! He goes back to the car...few minutes later comes up give me 80 in a 65...I gotta fight this and drop it to what ever i can. Im so pissed that i stayed out until 4:30 go to be at like 5 and napped til 9:30 and i got work from 3-11
Point of the story is.....don't speed

speeding has become a major conversation topic lately. more cops on the road == more tickets being written. just be glad he didn't clock you doing 120... he would have written a reckless to go with the speeding ticket.

On the turnpike i downshifted and punched it and got clocked at 127 in the HOV lane with a trooper rolling behind me, He turned on his camera to get my plate cause he said he didnt think hed see me again. I slowed down and thats when he caught up and put his lights on. I had no clue he was there. oh well, I got a written warning for speeding in "excess of speed limit" and a ticket for illegal use of HOV lane, a $42 no point ticket. Thats when i learned my lesson, and didnt want to push my luck again. but my speedo has gone past that several time since.

Maybe if you weren't driving a friggin import, the cop might have laid off on ya lol :P

But yeah seriously though, gotta be careful lately... even I'M not speeding as much (and that is definitely making a statement).

I know! But it was last resort...my dad had the caprice and I couldn't take the camaro to hoboken for the following reasons : No inspection sticker(thats why it can't leave summit) the steering is shot...needs tie rods. and i just broke a swap bar end link yesterday(right rear). I took the camaro out yesterday after sitting for more than a month....i wanted to take it out being it was a nice day Same Gas in it since begining of June i wanna run it bone dry and put good/new gas in it. Its had atleast 200 miles put on since the steering started getting loose on me back in early may.
I need to get all that fixed before the meet at island or else i can only come up with the caprice and watch

Suprised she let me take it considering that one night i got drunk & pissed out her 3rd fl window & hosed her car(didn't see it). I got it washed the next day for her but i dumped the clutch leaving the car wash laying down a pretty serious line and she got pissed at that too. Now a speeding ticket.....i'll never be able to drive her eclipse again

For some reason I remember hearing somewhere that if you're doing speeds in excess of 100 mph a cop cannot chase you because it endangers even more lives.

see he said he paced me doing 80 in union, he caught me right next to newark airport which he said was 6 miles away. Exit 57 is about 1 mile from where he used his radar and said 72.....from what a cop told me at work and my friend whos also a cop, they said when they pace its doing the same speed as you and knowing what you're doing without using radar but he was parked on the side of the highway when i saw him in union. I have a Cobra radar/lasar 360 degree and it only when off when he said that he clocked me by exit 57 driving behind me. It went crazy then nothing 2 seconds later cherrys.....i gotta fight it because you can't pace someone standing still.... he took a wild guess. He SHOULD have given me a 72 in a 65because he used radar to get that number.

i heard that same thing but i heard it applied to bikes. If i was on a bike he would of never got me but if i never dropped my speed from 115-120 he wouldn't have got me.

Isn't there some law about not being able to ticket you if you get clocked on radar and then leave the cop's sight?

Unless he had you on camera, I would think he wouldn't be able to prove that it was the same car.

they can ticket you even if you leave their sight but if you bring it up in court it should get dissmissed for the fact you could have switched drivers, (usually theyll ticket the registered owner of the car). And if someone reports you to the cops like a fellow driver, they have to be able to identify you in court by face otherwise the case is dropped, so thats a reason for tinted windows, hehe.

There a similar issue in a drunk driving crash, if you leave the accident, like walk off, and come back, then the cops cant prove you were drunk while you were driving, as long as you dont have open containers and such. The idea behind that is you could have went to a house or bar after the accident and drank, not feasible but probably has happened enough that they have to deal with it.

and with the camaera on he would be able to show my plate and the tape would have been evidence since he was getting ready to call ahead for backup or possibly a roadblock, lol, but as soon as i hit 127 i backed off and went over the the middlke lane and cruised at 75, thats when i finnaly saw the cop race up behind me, i knew he got me so i pulled to the far right lane and thats when he put his lights on. I must say he was really nice though, told me i could get 9 points, he could take my liscense away, etc... and when he asked what that was all about, my first words were.."i'm a ****ing *******.." he agreed lol

He could have gotten away with it easily....it was on 29. We measured later, Matt slowed down to normal speeds after he passed the cop, and the cop finally caught up to him 2.6 miles down the road.
