Sep 11th Hudson river car cruise/charity drive

Well I'm going to make it official whether I get a good turn-out or not. You are all invited to come up Saturday the 10th for a hudson river car cruise. I wanted to do a trip to the city for it but between logistics and traffic it just isn't feasible. I'm still working the route but it should be a very scenic ride (about 2-2.5 hours worth) I have at least some interest from locals so let me know if anyone wants to join us. I'll post the route up as soon as it is finished. I will also be collecting Donations for the NYC firefighters burn victim unit, I am donating $1 per mile driven so please come out and support a good cause.

OK, a couple of us worked out the routing up here. Here is the plan if anyone wants to consult their road Atlas.

Going to Start off in Fishkill NY on Rte. 9 around noon, next to I-84 then travel south down Route 9D until we reach US route 6. After that it is acrossed the Hudson on the bear mountain bridge, and then back up 9W on the other side of the river. Both 9D and 9w run right next to the water. We'll follow 9W up to West Point and then up Storm King Mountain for a photo OP(roughly 1500 feet striaght up, great ride). Then on to Newburgh and continue following 9W all the way up to the Mid-Hudson Bridge in highland (kind of lose the river here but it is still a nice ride). Cross over the Mid-Hudson and Â*into poughkeepsie and then back down US 9 to a late lunch/early dinner (probably be around 2:30/3:00 by then) at any of the restaurants and at that point anyone could head back to I-84 and back home. With any kind of luck the leaves will be in the middle of changing, and we'll find some good photo ops along the way.

That's awesome, except that I go back the 5th an I don't know if I will be able to come back for it... which sucks because part of 9W is in my town...
