hey guys... some guesses/help would be very very appreciated

Hey guys,
Had this problem for about I guess 3 months or so now- whenever I floor the gas when it is in park, idle, or neutral and the car isnt moving, it won't go above 4000 RPM, and stops and just kind of doesnt let it go up farther- boounces up and down right around the 4000 RPMS. When the car is moving, it works fine- revs through the complete RPM cycle. I was wondering what the heck it could be, as its been happening for a while now. I've posted a video of me flooring it the whole way through. I'd really appreciate some comments/guesses or advice on what I should do about it. Thanks again!

- Kevin

K, then Tim is right... my ex-girlfriends saturn did that as well, but hers was a 4 banger. hptuner software will help you out a bit and removal of the limiter is a necessary step to going above the 4k range. This still doesnt answer my mysterious idle in my old 86... maybe cuz it ran mid 17's with exhaust/air work

i only know because craig used to have that problem before he got an update for his hptuners.
teh computer actually plays with the throttle position to limit the car in park/neutral instead of pulling fuel or spark. it is really a safe rev limiter for teh engine.

thanks guys :)

thanks guys for clearing that up.. you rock, i've been worried about that for a while now, thought something was wrong. But anyway, I'm actually looking at getting a new exhaust for my ride- any suggestions? and my guess is that I should probably do that tuning if I'm going to get the exhaust- however I have absolutely no idea how to get it started. Any suggestions in either area? Or should I just leave the limiter on since it might actually be a good thing? Thanks much guys

magnaflow sounds pretty good on 6 bangers.
email the exhaust guys, streetofdreams2004@yahoo.com
they are magnaflow, flowmaster, and pypes dealers.
i suggest you get a system with 3inch tubing. a lot of guys adapt the LT1 single cat systems on to geet the tubing diameter correct.

Kasey (Savage Messiah) has one on his V6 F-body, and it sounds nice! I dunno what the cops complain about, it doesn't seem ~that~ loud.
