beretta z26

well i looked at a pretty nice 95 beretta z26 today, 66k miles, old couple owned it, needs a little touching up as far as paint goes but the inside is mintn even the engine bay was clean. anyone have any experience with these? ive personally always liked these cars and with the gas prices we have now that lil V6 would be perrrfect..... o yea they were askin like 3300 for it

as far as i know, there's no serious problems when it comes to these cars. the V6 in them is peppy, with 170 HP i believe. a friend of mine had one in high school, not a bad car.

does the Z26 have the 3.4 DOHC, or is it a 3.1/3.4 OHV?
If its the DOHC dont expect great fuel economy, so ive heard.

3.1. nice interiors as well. my buddies got one with a lot more mileage then that and its still running real strong for them. for that price, i would pick it up. i like those cars alot.

Yeah its basically the same setup as the 91-96 era of Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme's, which I've driven. Very dependable drivetrain. Good luck.

i had an 89 beretta gt 2.8ltr v6...fun little car probably one of my favorite cars to be honest especially when i was younger...price sounds reasonable but i wouldnt say great....the gtz had a high revving 4 banger..doesnt look like they made a dohc 3.4 ltr option though.

Yeah, GTZ - a buddy of mine had the GTZ with the 5 speed. Quick as hell off the line but it lost it after 70mph. Stick with the 6 for power all the way through the rpms and mphs...

My wife had a 1994 and had to replace the ABS system in it. Apparently for that year the ABS system was notorious for failing. By 95 they may have solved that problem.

Otherwise we both enjoyed that car. Good find.

In stock form the 60*v6 falls on it's face over 4000 RPM. Gotta give it a cold air intake (or mass air intake) and a bit more exhaust (2.5" on my Lumina) and that really wakes up the midrange and high end.
