WTF?

ive been gettin this Winfixer 2005 popup on a bunch of sites lately, is anyone else getting this too?....and when i x out of it or click cancel it starts running anyway

sounds like the nail.exe virus.


go to regedit, then search the directory

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon/Shell

Once you see the value for Shell on the right hand side, if it says "explorer.exe -nail.exe" , or something like that...then you've been hit. If so,I'll post up the fix I've used before.

i dont have a shell...all i have is credentials, gpextenstions, notify, special accounts

Don't open Winlogon...just click on it. Then look on the right side, shell will be listed there.

It should read "Explorer.exe" over at the far right (Data Value) , but if there is anything different, then you have a problem.

i got Explorer.exe....it usually pops up on myspace, but it opened when i brought up the boards this mornin
