I stand here before you, knee deep in the bull ****.

i got hassled by the cops three different times today by the biggest ******* cops. if you are gonna hassle me and give me a hard time, thats fine with me. i'm used to it because i get it from jon (roommate) and my mother every day of my damn life. but these cops were just dicks about things and were just mad impolite for no damn reason. its really upsetting because what they yelled at me for was not as big as they were makign it out to be. then they act like they saved my life for not giving me a ticket. if i become president, civilians are all gonna carry tazers for when cops start to give them lip.

so i guess im lucky for getting away with no tickets right? first cop yelled at me for sitting on the floor in the court hallway, next cop yelled at me for parking my car on the sidewalk to give my friend light while he was changing his tire, the last cop pulled me over out of suspicion and yelled at me because the last cop didnt give me back my liscence and i didnt notice. i'm so mad...

but... i am happy cause no kids showed up to trick or treat so now im gonna go eat some candy

I don't know why you're mad, you brought that stuff on by your own actions so you better be prepared to deal with it. Sitting on the floor in a courthouse shows disrespect for our system, pulling onto a sidewalk is an obvious one and how can you not realize you don't have your license? Common sense, it can do wonders for you!

I agree with two outta three there Jeff.

But if someone pulled onto a sidewalk for some light to help another person out with car troubles, the police don't have to hassle everyone because of that. If he was doing donuts in the lawn or burnouts in the parking lot sure. But helping someone out is no biggie. I bet if the car had AAA Towing Services on it or something the police probably wouldnt have given it a second thought.

i was outside the courthouse on line waiting to talk to the prosecutor. the judge showed up an hour late and i was on line for 3 hours and as for respect i gave the chairs to the ladies. i know a little better then that... how can i not realize i have my liscence? i was changing a tire for my friend so when the cop gave me back my documents without a ticket i thanked him even though he was being disrespectful to me and just threw them in my car, you dont think about that stuff when you leave your house at 2am to change a tire for your friend when you're dead tired... pulling onto a sidewalk, maybe not the brightest thing in the world i understand that, but since none of us really had a flashlight and we had already lost one of the lug nuts, what else were we to do?

jeff i understand you are just playing devils advocate but saying i placed it upon myself due to lack of common sense is just ignorant. you mean to tell me a police officer yelling at me for sitting in a hallway after telling an elderly lady who had been waiting only half the time i was to take the seat is necesary? you mean to tell me that a simple "sir, would you mind please getting up, we don't want anyone tripping over you by accident.." was impossible? that's my point. its wrong that people with authority have the right to be rude.

I'm not playing devil's advocate but how come everything you do attracts cops attention everywhere you go? It can't be a coincidence. That's why I'm saying to use common sense.

I think the cops were going a little over the top here. I mean where this tire had to be changed isnt the best area to be relaxing and taking your sweet time changing a tire especially at 2 am. I can see how one can get hassled for sitting on the floor in a court room, but I dont know the whole story on that, and you can only be thankful that the last cop was lenient on you not having your license on you, that could have been a mess. At 2 am sitting on the side of easton ave changing a tire and having a cop hassle you I think its a bit of a joke to say it was a lack of common sense here in respect to jake not remembering his license. just my $.02

i do respect the fact that cops pull over suspicious vehicles to check for drunk drivers. but i wasnt drunk and i explained to him my business in "his" town. so why did he continue hassling me? that same cop started making fun of my gloves and laughing in my face. thats not right and theres nothing anyone can say to that. i understand that my car attracts attention, especially with NY plates. but this is the first time a cop pulled me over out of suspicion and was rude and continued to hassle me after i explained myself. i usually just get a ok sir have a nice day and drive carefully.

cops are always dicks in court houses. they think they are super special and protected there some how. they are still expected to show every citizen the same level of respect, regardless of place or circumstance.
sitting on a floor is not a crime, so tell teh cop to stick it up his ass. he can't give you a ticket for sitting in line.

pulling up on teh side walk is border line, if he saw it i would expect a cop to say someting. once he knew what you were doing he should have asked you to make it quick or offered some assisitance.

not getting your license back is your mistake. if the cop wanted to be an ass about it he could have written you up for not having it. once again though, there is no reason for the cop to be rude about these things.

i don't know how you present yoruself to cops, if you get nervous or raise your voice it will automatically put them on the defensive and they will force control of the situation by being a dick to you.

remember everyone, we have more rights than they do when dealing with cops. stand up for yourself, know your rights, and always say please/thankyou/yes sir/no sir. if you are calm, respectful, and know your **** cops can't say a damn thing to you.

thank you tim, i appreciate your understanding with me and its nice to know someone is on my side. just as a sidenote- the sidewalk i spoke of is the entranceway to a gas station that was closed. it wasnt like i popped a curb to get there, the cop was just mad that people had to walk around my car and after he explained it it made sense and after i explained myself he told me that because of the situation and the way i presented myself he wasnt gonna give me a ticket. it was the other cop that pulled up and raised his flashlight at me like he was gonna hit me that ticked me off. i was talking to the other police officer and the other cop told me to get in my car and i told him i was speaking to the other officer and thats when he raised the flashlight at me. that cop needed to tone it down a little cause it wasnt that serious.

Â*they have a specific job to do in the community and depending on who they had teaching them how to do that job is how they come across when dealing with citizens. Â*some are going to be dicks regardless of how you come off. Â*that's just how they are. Â*you just caught three of them in a row one day, is all.

some can say it's your age or how you speak to them or how you present yourself, but i say sometimes it just doesn't matter and they will be dicks because that is how they have learned to deal with the job. Â*not right, but maybe it keeps them alive long enough to go home to their wife and kids.

you find rude people in all types of jobs. Â*it's how they deal with it. Â*sometimes i wonder to myself if they hate their job so much, if it makes them that miserable to do that job, then why don't they change careers?

p.s. one more thing: you never know what the cop had to deal with right before he dealt with you. i found out yesterday that one of the women that works in my doctor's office lost her husband not too long ago. you can understand her being a little bitter in the day-to-day than someone else who hasn't had to deal with that. it makes me think a little bit more about her responses to me than if i didn't know that about her, is all.

wise words... the more you think about it the more you tend to accept it. just in the heat of the moment you ask yourself why is this guy targeting me. thank you for bringing the conversation back to reality

funny story to wrap up this fiasco: when i was pulled over on Easton Ave, i was standing talking to the cool cop that was about to give me a ticket and a hot drunk girl in a short skirt was crossing the road right in front of us and caught all our attention. as the girl made it to our side of the road she looked at all of us, gave out a woooot! and just fell right on her face and didn't get up. after she took that spill, the cool cop, my friends, and i all started dying laughing while her friends tried to get her up. the jerk cop went over there and started yellling at them while we all just watched and laughed it up. it was great
