Cute "Ol' time: car story.
Read this on an ol' skool site n' though it was cute:
This happened in Deerwood, Minnesota back when Ford Model-A cars were still common out in the farms of the Midwest. My wife's father owned a Model-A that he and his friends pushed out of the barn onto the dirt road that passed by the house. They attached a rope to the front axle and waited for a kind soul to tow them 20 miles to town. Soon a car or truck would show up and they had their tow. Later the same day they did the same thing in town to get a tow back to the farm.
This went on for about a year. About once a week some nice person would allow them to tie the rope to the back and took them all the way to town. Then some other nice person would take them back out to the country again.
Finally one nice person who had towed them several times asked why they had not gotten the Model-A fixed. "How come you still haven't been able to get that car fixed? The engine can't be that bad that it can't be made to run."
My wife's dad answered honestly with a straight face, "Well, I would except that Model-A has no engine. We just use it to get to town and back."
