How much to lower the car
I am going to lower my car soon, however I'd like to know what you guys think are the best springs / drop rate to go.
I'm not looking for the
effect of having less than a penny's worth of ground clearance, but I would like a more aggressive, less 4x4ish stance.

ha ha ha... Damn ricers... Just chop the springs... custom height settings
I was thinking about getting the Sphon coil over system for the 85... and the Eibach Sportline springs for the rear... I hear that Eibach is one of the few good springs for F-bodies..

with eibach pro kit springs you will improve handling and drop the car 1.25-1.5inches, with the sportlines you will see a little bit less fo an improvement in handling and teh car will drop 1.75-2inches.
if you mostly use teh car for cruising and aren't concerned with having the absolute greatest handling or perfect launch i woudl go for the sportline springs. the drop will look really sweet, still ride nice, and leave plenty of ground clearance for new jersey roads.
the other option is to spend a bunch of cash on coil overs. any ride height you want any time you want.

if you have certain long tube headers, dropping the car even an inch may cause some scrapping

i think you just suck at driving brandon.
my GP has scraped the cutout on speedbumps, but that was out in PA at a college that had the biggest speedbumps ive ever seen.

I had an extra capacity auto trans pan on my old 93 and it would hit on some speed bumps and certain curbs going into parking lots. That was stock ride height too. I'll never lower a car here in NJ, the roads and parking lots are horrible. Longtube headers will be an issue like mentioned so if you lower it, don't go too far.

i picked up a set of used slp eibach's for around $150. sold them with the car though. i was looking for a ~1" drop. regular eibachs, from the research i did, will lower the car 1.5 - 1.75".

I have an Eibach pro-kit with valved bilstien shocks. Whatever you do make sure you replace the shocks with the pro-kit. Thats where it gets expensive.
Im not really satisfied with the look the pro-kit gave me, I was looking for alittle more rake in the car, but also dont forget the fender wells in the front are larger then the rear, so it will give the effect of the rear is lower then the front. Eventually I think I may sell my brand new Pro-Kit for another brand by the summer time or if I get a deal on new springs like DMS.
Anyone know if I changed the springs will that effect my LCA's & Relocation brackets?

I also suggest replacing the shocks along with teh springs for added handling enhancement, but you can just drop the car for now.
[salesmanpitch]At Sears Auto Center, we sell Eibach's Pro Kit and will intstall them for you while you wait! If you would like a price quote, PM me, and when I go back into work, I will send you the price [/salesmanpitch]

whatever you do, dont do intrax, i did in my SS, it did give a killer look for a while but was way too low, i would easily say i was one of the lowest static ride height fbodys in NJ. Now i still run intrax in the front and stockers in the rear, but when i put the new motor in, im doing coilovers(QA1) up front and Hotchkis in the rear. I think the intrax ones will find their way into my z28. lol,

because when you lower the car you take some of the travel range away from the shocks. so if your shocks are a little tired you will be very much more likely to scrape.
it will also save you the hassle of going back and taking stuff apart again when you need to update the shocks anyway.
