Ford windstar chime?

my wife has a 2000 Ford windstar van. Whether the car is on or off, doors open or closed there is a faint car chime (sounds like a warning if the lights are still on) coming from near the passengar side dash / door. When the car sat for a few days it was long enough to drain the battery.

Any thought what this could be before we pay a shop bookoo bucks to troubleshoot?

Check to see if there is a plunger for the door chimes in the passenger side doorjamb. There is a possibility that this broke off, and it is telling the computer that the door is always open.

maybe the reason it is faint is because the battery is drained

Also I learned that if the little metal connectors in the door jamb are loose or rusty, the chime will go off.
