[rant]What Is with NJ and inspection? It sucks! My mom failed for windsheild wipers they were 2 weeks old! The inspection times SUCK! open till 4:30 No wonder why it costs like $80 to get your car inspected privately!! they must make alot of cash![/rant]

So I have been waiting to get my car inspected for 3 months now we were gonna have it done today, but on the Njdmv website it said that inspection places were opent till 7 on tuesdays and then at 8 I noticed for inspection you have to click on like 6 different links and it turns out they were open!! why cant it be like alabama they dont have inspection their!

dont feel bad, ive bought cars from dealers and failed. my 2001 failed the day i bought it. inspection sucks ass

Its so stupid they just want people not to pass so they can drive around with fail stickers risking getting a fine! now I have to fork over any where from 60-80 bucks to fail inspection so I know what I need to get fixed!

isnt it that most private facilities can only do re-inspections? or am i wrong on this?

private garages that have the equipment can do initial and re-inspections.

i remember my inspection experiences with my 88 iroc convetrible, failed inspection in oct of 2000, got the red "REJECTED 10(for oct)" sticker, motor blew, sat till jan. Then put the 383 in and drove it daily. Got pulled over in june for no inspection(still with the oct rejection), got a $123 ticket. got pulled over a week later for no inspection, with no paperwork at all on me this time(no DL, reg. or ins card), only thing with my drivers license number on it was that ticket from a week earlier, so i gave that to the cop, we had a good laugh, he let me go after telling me if the car was rejected in march he wouldnt have maybe pulled me over, but "october...come on now" in his words. I drove the IROC only at night then and I drove my STS in the daylight till August when i traded that in on my SS. good times.

yea. The place i bought my WS6 from garuenteed it would pass, i take it and i fail for a bad knock sensor! In south jersey that inspection lines are so fast, i took my 95z28 and i was in and out in less than 15 mins, and the guy was trying to buy it lol.

first day i bought my ws6 they guarranteed inspection, failed for that little light above my license plate dangling didnt notice that, then i zip tie it up the guys like no it has to be mounted so i buy the mount like 3 weeks later, go back i fail for check engine light, get that taken care of didnt drive long enough fail for system not ready. then i get hit by a saturn, clutch takes a crap and 2 months later i get it back finally im gonna try and go get it inspected today lol

sounds like you got one of Christine's relatives
