Teaser shot

I just got the tires mounted and balanced on the wheels that Paul painted for me. I'm waiting on new lugs before I mount them on the car though so I had to take a teaser shot. This is the 315/35/17 on the 17x11 wheel for the rear.

From what I've been reading, the Sumitomo actually runs a little smaller than most 315/35/17 tires. But it was a money issue and most of the other tires in that size run $250-350 per tire! Good thing I didn put them on last night in hopes of driving to work today, the gound is completely covered in a fluffy layer of snow!

hey jeff- dont forget to roll the fender lips. if they rub too hard you might end up with a sliced tire. that doesnt happen to everyone though... but if they rub, let me know i remember seeing a guy on ls1tech renting them out for like 40 or 50 bucks.

anyways, i think they look beautiful. post pics of finished product!

Ive only had the fender slice into the passenger side tire once because I had a large passenger in the back seat and thats with a pro-kit.

PM HardcoreZ28 on this board, he owns RPM Resto & Custom, and he painted those wheels for Jeff.

I just bolted on the wheels/tires and it looks great! The rears fit real close but I trimmed the bumpstop and mounts so it clears. I'm waiting to get the center cap decals so I don't want to put the center caps on yet. I hope to take the car out of the garage tomorrow to get some pictures. White car with white wheels looks and the stock lugs with the black plastic caps is the perfect combination.

My car is at stock height right now so no need to roll the fender lips.

My rear hatch is already tinted so that looks decent. I'm not gonna tint the side windows, It's not worth the hassle of getting pulled over. I was thinking about the 30th anniversary stripes but I doubt I'll do that. No mo money for the 96 SS, it's already eaten into the 69 Z restoration fund.
