Lol I enjoy reading in the description "I have all the original documentation and receipts from all the regular maintenance I've had on it including every oil change" .... now ok it has less then 3k Miles on it how many oil changes & maintenance can he really have?!

absoultly, but you can always get a shift kit .

But what would you rather own a performance car that has fewer than 3k and pretty much new, or something that has had 6 different owners and 142,291 miles? Though I do agree, people that buy performance cars and don't drive them are nuts. Just like the old folk that by the Corvettes and don't open the throttle more then a quarter

My olds cutty (84) has 91k orig miles (4k miles a year)
my 94 grand marq has 92k. (7600 miles a year)

Both are still under the average of 15,000.
I never drive the cutty, I figure in 2034 If I dont drive it, that will ammount to 1800 miles a year and ill sell it. (Its in mint cond)

As for the oil, look how many millions of years it sits in the ground, whats the difference between sitting in the ground and sitting in a dormant engine? Though maybe the oil coming into contact with air effects it I still change mine every 3k or 3 months just because of what the popular word is

Very true...but it doesn't mean that every year it was only driven that many miles. To me, it really doesn't matter if it has high milage. If everything runs great and maintance is up-to-date its cool with me.

the additives go bad. If it was simply crude oil, you could leave it in there, like you said, for a million years and it would barely change. But oil companies refine it and add stuff to it.

so, how many of you have had a major mechanical failure that can be attributed to oil? none? that's what i thought. the oil companies have you brainwashed. but as long as you think you are providing your car with more protection, that's all that matters, right?

This body style was very rare as it was only produced during 1991 and 1992.

did this not strike anyone as pure ********? 77,000 firebird with that same exact body style were produced in 1991 and '92. of those, if you want to be really technical, 6500 were formula. hurry up and get one of those rare cars...

I know of several engines that lost bearings or wiped out cams due to the owner changing brands of oil. There are differences in the brands and you should really stick to the brand the engine was broken in with. I always ask what brand oil the owner was using when I buy a used vehicle. Yes, you can switch around and most likely not have any problems, but why even risk it. And a car that has low mileage could have dried out seals and some surface rusting could start on the inside of the engine just due to moisture condensation on those days when temps vary a lot. I've gone out into my garage to find stuff in there completely wet from a cold night and then a sudden warmup. As for additives, hmmmmmm I don't know that they really help but there seem to be some that can really do some damage.
