what muffler
Hey guys what muffler would sound good for the 86, hooker long tubes into a mufflex y pipe and then into the flowmaster system with a 80 series muffler but the 80's seires is killing me it sounds like complete ****. thanks in advance.

Something that has a deep throaty sound to it when you get on it and has a nice idle sound

I would say Hooker or Magnaflow. Both sound good on a sbc...

I think it takes alot of time and custom fitting... I would be doing it but am opting for the standard "false" dual exaust muffler (40 series from flowmaster). I cant stay away from that flowmaster sound...3" all the way back though and no cat so it should make up for the little backpressure they make...I hope.

Spintechs sound pretty dam good on cammed cars
Id tap a seriously quiet muffler and run a single cut-out before it borla style 8)

flowmaster wont flow good no matter what, thats why im gettin rid of mine, but if anyone wants it once i take it off ill sell it

You can make a single work fine... only reasons for true duals IMO are bragging rights and the better sound

that is EXACTLY what hooker advertises..."deep throaty powerful sound that doesn't change with time." i have a hooker, and even for a 6 it sounds deep and throaty. go with them i think.
