For the computer oriented folk

The DVD drive on my laptop has been having some issues...

videos that were previously on my laptop have no trouble playing, audio cds also have no trouble playing...but when I put in a DVD, it stutters along, almost like little brief skips youd hear with an audio cd. ive checked numerous dvds and they all do the same thing.

the thing is still under warranty but im trying to avoid driving to a best buy to have it taken care of if i can handle it myself.

any ideas?

i thought the same thing when my DVD player (not ROM) stopped playing DVDs but would play CDs fine...my PS2 did the same thing, but they were both over a year old...

I dunno, how about the DVD program itself? What are you running?

there are like 68 different dvd programs to choose from on the laptop...all of which do the same thing.

And don't forget to get rid of all of those players and just use one. Much less bloat on the system.

I recommend PowerDVD.
