They say your cars runs it's best right before it breaks

Well, I knew it was hot out, but I wanted to get a few runs in tonight. The car was 60 footing better than last week which was a bonus. No new best, but it had it in it if it wouldn't have broke. It was running better than last week on the first few runs until third and forth gear bit the dust on the 3rd and final run = FTL

..............Run 1..............Run 2................Run 3(broke the trans)
60..........1.792..............1.685.............. ..1.691
330........5.011..............4.814............... .4.811
1/8.........7.639..............7.413................ 7.415
mph........93.39.............94.29................ 92.30
1000......10.546............9.685................9 .754
1/4.........11.853...........11.613..............11. 720
mph.......117.29...........117.31..............115 .38

Run 1 - stalled the car to 2000 in 3rd gear
Run 2 - off idle in 3rd gear
Run 3 - off idle in 3rd gear(on the 2-3 shift the car hit the rev limiter one time before I pushed it up into drive, then it shifted into 3rd.

On the 2nd and 3rd runs the car slammed 2nd gear and snapped my neck. It never does that. After the 3rd run I knew something was wrong as I went down the return lane. I manually shifted from 1, to 2, went for 3 and the rpms just went up and no shift. Trouble shot the car in the pits, no third or forth gear.

I did have fun dispite the broken trans. I know I would have been close to a new best had the trans held together. It was in the back of my mind that either the trans or the D/S would go soon, so I wasn't all that surprised. New things are coming on the horizon. I won't be racing at the f-body clash which sucks.

Yeah, I pretty much decided tonight that it's time to get a little more serious. So I have to call some people tomorrow and talk about some new goodies. It should be fun in the fall.

Well the trans is going to be a Rossler 4L60 with a trans brake and a 4xxx stall after I look at my dyno sheets. I dropped the deposit already, but I have to wait 3 weeks since they are busy.

Should be fun....sorry to hear that it broke though, that's never good.

Did you drive it home in second, or get it towed?

I drove it home in 2nd at a whopping 35-40 mph. I kept an eye on the trans temp the whole time. It was a cool night so it stay around 150-160. That drive sucked. I dropped it off at my friend's house and picked up "Rusty"(my truck lol)

Yeah, hopefully when I get the M21 in it will fix a little bit of that. Not planning on getting much better than that though.
