There goes Pittsburg's season
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2480830
not too long ago he was interviewed about this very topic...now he's hurt bad. Feel bad but these states with these stupid no helmet laws have some of the worst friggin motorcycle accidents.

It sucks, but I don't really feel bad for him. Hard to tell who was at fault in the accident from the brief description they gave.
Reminds me of the guy that hit Will's vette that day on the way to Island. During the guy's slide across the pavement, half of his "Helmet Laws Suck" sticker was scraped off of his helmet....

It's a real shame. I would never get on a bike without a helmet, no matter what the laws say.
Hope he recovers quickly.

He's not out of the woods just yet. There's always the possiblity of infection setting in. You have to be nuts not to wear a helmet. And he was riding what they say is the fastest street legal bike produced (can't remember the name). What even surprises me more is that the team would let their star QB ride a bike to begin with. But unfortunately football isn't like baseball, where they have those things in their contracts that keep them from doing stuff like that.

He was riding a Black 2005 Hayabusa - very fast bike.
They said there was no clause in his contract about riding motorcycles, however he had been previously spoken to by Cowher about riding without his helmet. He told Cowher that he was a safe rider, and that he always rode in groups.

they played a clip of an interview of him from lastyear about bikes and he said that he'd never ride a sport bike and if people do 200MPH and do wheelies down the highway then thats just stupid..kind of ironic that he crashed on a busa

I had heard about that...
I also just saw an article that said he doesn't have a PA bike license. He had a permit, but it expired on March 29.

I also read that Bradshaw had a talk with him sometime last year and flat out told Ben "Ride it when you retire."

read in the paper today that it takes the average person about 7 weeks to heal from a broken jaw. training camp starts in 5 weeks.
figure he will get teh best care available to get back to full strength and they usually only do condition the first week or so of camp anyway.
doesn't sound to me like it shoudl be much of a problem.
i was also told today taht one of the wire services is reporting that ward visited big ben in the hospital. handed him a get well card from the team, some gag gifts, and a play book "so he has something to read". lol

Shouldn't, as long as everything now goes all right. But if I were him I'd be extra worried now about getting blindsided by a tackle one of my linesmen miss. Could potentially affect his playing.

My older bro Richard (lives in Pittsburgh, HUGE steelers fan) went to the crash site. Ben's blood is still all over the pavement bye the curb and such. Yucky. I guess it hadn't rained there yet. Haha

Pittsburg wasn't going to win the Superbowl anyway. Dallas will be taking it next season.

ummm, dallas sucks and just hired cancer to fill in the need for a quality receiver. good luck with that. he couldn't even make it on time to his own football camp to sign autographs for little kids.

Apparently you have your mathmatical signs mixed up Liz.
The Dallas Cowboys are the greater of the two teams, so in this case, the Cowboys > Steelers because the Steelers suck.
