May be in the market for a late model TA
I have posted this tread in the general Tech Forum but wanted to post here to.
Have gotten great feedback on getting one of these in the other thread, You guys are getting me excited about test driving one of these. I have never driven one (well not in about 30 years). I trying to see if any of the local dealers are selling one so I can find out if I like the ride. If you know of any that are for sale at any of the local lots let me know.

There's one for sale in the classifieds. It's been modded, so not sure how you feel about that. But it's only $13k, and a really well done car.

Thanks for the link Justin. I'm looking for a more stock car. I do have a question on the Firehawk option, did it only come in a 6 speed? I will be putting 70 (GSP) miles a day on the car and really want a automatic.

try www.carsforsale.com do search and you'll find 13 cars depending on your price range. I did all Trans Ams from 1997 til 2007 and there were a bunch.

Was at Wyckoff last night and saw John's Firehawk up close. What a great looking car! Sorry for the drool John.
I'll be keeping my eye out for one of those. So I'm thinking a late model Firehawk or new GTO. In my opinion, the GTO has the power, the Firehawk has the looks. Very hard choice.

It was cool talking with you at the show Rich. Glad you like the car. The GTO is 55 more hp than the Firehawk...so if you think you're going to need the extra get-up-and-go, get the GTO. I've driven both cars and each car is great in their own respects, but the Firehawk isn't really that far behind the goat in power, plus it's also a few pounds lighter. I think for you it will probably come down to what you want most. But by the way you were talking about my car, it sounded to me like you'd take the Firehawk over a GTO. But if you're stuck between the two, than it may just come down to what you find first

Yeah and if you get the firehawk you can explain 1000000 times the difference between it and the ws6. Or you can get called a firebird. Or people who are REALLY dumb will ask what it is.
But I like the Hawk looks better then the gto and a few cheapie mods will get you the extra 55 hp, but like john said the weight diff. will make up for the hp diff. I'm biased but the hawk is the better option, but you can get a NEW gto there are no new hawks....

Sold the Jag yesterday now I'm ready to buy. Have to admit that I'm going with the 2006 GTO, I love the 2002 Firebird, but decided to go with the GTO for the daily driver, reasons: its new, its got a factory warranty, lots to chose from, 0% financing, you can get them at invoice and I dont care how many miles I put on it. I will test drive one today to make the final decision. Seeing John's Red TA Firehawk the other day did make this a difficult decision.

I drove one yesterday (at Englewood Pontiac). I have to say, I dont think I was ready for what I experienced. This monster has power, what a rumble (I think I got scared, lol). Its got it all, price, power, comfort, good looks (well, once you get over the expectation of what a GTO should look like, what ever that means). I really dont understand why this didnt sell. I guess you have to see it and drive it in person to change the way you feel about it. I will be think very very hard about this over the next day or so.

Wow, the Jag went pretty quick then! The fact that you can get a GTO brand new is reason enough to get one...nothing beats having the car you want and being the only owner of it. I think you'll be really happy with the GTO if you decide to get it. There's been days when it's nice out and I opt to take my dad's GTO out over the Firehawk...very fun car to drive. Did you test drive a stick or auto? Make sure to post up when you finally decide!

Picked it up yesterday, looks and drives great. Red is a great color for this car. It was hard keeping it under 80 coming down 287 from the dealer. This car is just pure FUN! Has a great rumble.
