Anyone here with a cutout?

Im thinkin of gettin one for my Z, but im wonderin about inspection and johnny law. I have to get my car inspected come august (although i guess i could do it sooner) anyhow, would my car fail the sniffer or visual test with a cutout even with it being closed? it shouldnt fail the sniffer but what about the visual, anyone have any problems?

You don't even have to worry about the sniffer test. All OBDII cars (96+) don't get it anymore. They just read your computer to check for codes.

My dad has a state inspection license, and he told me that cutouts are legal, as long as you don't have a way of opening it from inside the car. Not sure how strict the inspection station will be about it....

If ur inspection is due on August 2006 ... u can take your car to get inspected 60 days prior to the due month ... so you can basically take your car now if u wanted to.

theres a really good mieneke on Rt 17 in Upper Saddle River across from the IHOP. i'm waiting shipment on a set of cutouts and i'm gonna take my car there to have it installed. they advertise the fact that they do custom work. they did the brakes on my camaro and the exhaust on my old isuzu and their work is great and their prices are very reasonable in my opinion. not to mention the owner is a 1st gen Camaro owner as wellll.

Yea, go ahead and hide the switch. But what about that big electric motor on the side of your cutout? They still stick the mirror under your car ya know....

I know this....I was just responding to Brandon's suggestion that hiding the switch would make everything better.
