i wasnt a huge fan of his music, he was only with the band for one album i think. their earlier music with syd was really similar to the beetles. i like their later music with dave gilmour alot better.

but still, syd created the band

he was a good musician but from what ive read a total whack job/******* htough.

i agree with shane the music with gilmour i think is def better

Love that Pink Floyd. Syd was a real inspiration to a lot of musicians that you younger types listen to today. While he had his troubles, launching Pink Floyd with the talent that made up the band, is a lasting legacy for him that still continues to today.

Having said that, I agree that I like the David Gilmour era better if I was forced to choose. Have six PF albums in my car, though thats a dangerous combo late at night when yer tired.

pink floyd wasn't whiney music, it was definately inspired by drugs in large part though.
they covered a lot of different styles over the years, from 60's weirdness to some limited pop success in the mid-90's.
